Trying to decide on my next home resort. Loved loved, loved my visit to VWL. I'm a resort person on vacation and I would love walks and bike rides through the woods, the activities at FW, just sitting out reading and relaxing in woodsy surrounding. Etc. My actual dream home is a cabin in the woods. We stayed at BLT this summer (lake view studio) and I loved that location too. However, I didn't feel like there was anywhere to relax and unwind except by the pool and that's not all that relaxing. So I'm pretty sure about VWL but am concerned about not getting an occasional BLT reservation at 7 months in the future. I'd be perfectly happy at VWL though! :)

Which one is harder to get at 11 months during summer and Christmas? My travel times are during the school vacations so I'm limited. I would see wanting BLT sometimes during the summer/New Years and VWL at Christmas. Thanks for your help!

Either of those resorts will be hard to get at Christmas/New Years and neither should be the hardest except for 4th of July week in the summer.

BLT lake view and VWL are easy to get 7 months out all summer including July 4 time. They are close to impossible to get first two weeks of Dec or Dec 23 to Jan 2 although you may get lucky if seeking 1BR

This.
I'd agree that both are near impossible at Christmas (and the first 2 weeks of December) and both likely are doable in the summer. Though, BLT has higher inventory totals, especially Lake View, so be default may have greater availability.

We own at BLT and booked this past December (1st week) at 11 months, tried to move our BWV stay to BLT at 7 months and couldn't. Not even 1 day came through via waitlist. I looked for both theme park view and lake view. No luck.
