Hard Tickets

I'm a DW vet trying to plan our first DLR trip. We are used to getting our tickets when we check in and they are on our hard key card, so kind of an all in one card. From what I understand they don't do that at Disneyland Resort.

I have also seen on the ticket thread that some people have hard tickets and some have soft paper tickets. My question is, if I get my tickets from the hotel are they paper or plastic? Is there any way I can guarantee a hard ticket? I'm clumsy and have been know to destroy the paper AP's when I have had them so I just thought I would ask.

The plastic tickets usually come from package bookings like AAA or Costco. I have not heard of a way to make sure you get the souvenier(sp)
tickets. I would have a better plan on protecting the card stock ones and make sure you have all your ticket numbers so they can be replaced if needed.

You can also get the hard tickets at the grocery store, they sell multi-day hoppers. But if I am not mistaken, the online ticket deals are sometimes better priced than those.

DD's hard plastic hopper *this past Nov.* came from a Kroger store - it was maybe $2 more than an online hopper would've cost.

The plastic tickets I've seen at the grocery store were the same price as they were online.

I don't know where you live, OP, but they might not be available in your grocery store. I know they sell hard tickets at the Disney Store, too.

I've never found hard tickets in the grocery store for anything over 3 days. I get mine from AAA. They need to be ordered if you want more than a 3 day ticket. Last time they charged us a $10.00 fee. But then, we also got the ticket perks like preferred seating for shows, and some store discounts.
