Is the Hard Rock Hotel always more expensive than RP? Should we just decide to stay at RP rather than HR because it's always going to cost less? :confused3

RPR is usually the cheaper of the three on-site hotels

True...it usually is cheaper most of the time....but compare your dates. You might be surprised it can only be $20/nite sometimes!

all the hotels will be expensive then, but make sure to check rates at both hotels.....you can check the sticky for the dates/rates people got this year....maybe President's weekend will be on that thread

You should check all hotels for your specific dates. We'll be up there next weekend and PBH ended up being the cheapest with the Florida Resident discount at $199 per night. When we went in February, HRH was the cheapest by about $20 per night. So it just depends.

Thank you...I'll do a little research on the threads and also keep watching...:surfweb: I know we will be staying on site...I know we will need four different rooms...We have stayed at HR twice...and liked it...so now the rest of them want to stay there, too...But, if there is a big difference in price...we will probably stay at RP...The ages in our group going will be...68, 63, 60, 57, 42, 39, 38, 33, 15,11,10, and 8. None have been there before except my husband and me ..(60 and 57)... The kids would probably like HR...and the adults would probably like RP...I will be the one making the decisions and arrangements....We already have our plane tickets and park tickets...:)

You can always book 2 rooms at HRH and 2 at RPR and "switch up"....having the adults and kids sleep at the other hotels...that way, everyone experiences both!!! Unless being all together in the same hotel is a MUST for you...why not? :confused3 (Everyone still keeps their room key, so FOTL won't be an issue)

depending on the date of your trip, may determine which hotel is cheapest.

if you can call them cheap.....

when i go in october, i have found pbh hotel cheaper than the other two the last 2 years.

i stay at hrh.
i like it there when i do hhn.

Oh..I know! One of my adult sons is really giving me a hard time on the price of the three on site hotels...They were used to the "Pop Century" AP prices at Disney....I keep trying to explain to them how there are no "value" on site hotels for Universal...but, that everything is closer...and we'd get to go in a faster line up for the rides....

We have always made the "family" trip to Disney every February....to Disney World...I had been waiting for the youngest grandchild to get a bit older before we went to Universal....So..this will be a first for everybody except my husband and me....I also paid for everything before, too...(instead of any gifts at other times of the year)...This time...I am having them pay for most of the trip...(Wouldn't you know...the price of the hotels will be more expensive)...but, with Michigan's economy the way it is...I just could not afford it any more....:sad2: )I'm still paying for the Blue Man and Sea World tickets...and food...for ten out of the twelve in our group...which will still be their Christmas and birthday presents for the year....:santa: I hope they will all want to come back next February...

What's the big deal if you stay at Royal Pacific? We stay there, not because the price may be better, but because we like the resort the best of all three. It is themed very well and has a great pool and grounds. It is closest to Islands of Adventure and has a great welcoming feel to it. Make sure you tell your kids it is in the same class as the Polynesian not Pop. Good Luck!!

It doesn't make any difference to me...It's the fourteen year old granddaughter...She had heard about it and wanted to stay there...;)

Yes...I have explained to the "adult kids" about the difference in the hotels....and have told them...as well as my sister...how, if possible, it is really better (for convenience and for the "ride lines" to stay on site)...My sister is really voicing her opinion about the price of staying on site, too...

You know..."You can't please everybody!" :dance3: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
