Hi

I phoned Virgin today to get pricings for next October for the Hard Rock Hotel for my husband and I and 3 kids who will be 16, 13 and 9 when we travel. I was told that we would need 2 rooms, however the brochure and all other places featuring this hotel say that the rooms sleep up to 5, can anyone shed any light on this? 2 rooms will make it extremely expensive for us to go there!!

Thanks

I stayed at the Hard Rock Hotel for 7 nights in August 2005 with my DD. The room we were given had 2 double beds and with the other furnishings there would not have been any room for another bed but I don't know if this is the same in all the rooms. I hope this helps. :)

we stayed at HRH last yr and the room slept 5. There are 2 double beds and they give you a rollaway bed if needed(extra charge).

Why not get a fly drive and book the hotel separately. Then you can shop around and get the best prices.

ps all the Universal Hotels sleep 5 to a room.

Very odd as this is what the VH website says -

650 rooms on 7 floors in 1 building with 6 lifts. All with air-conditioning, TV, CD player, coffee maker, mini-bar, safe, iron and board, hairdryer and bathrobes. Non-smoking rooms on request. Rooms with 2 queen-size beds, sleeping max 4 persons or family of 5 with rollaway (extra charge).

If you go online and put in 4 adults and 1 child (aged 9) it doesn't like it but if you go for 2 adults and 3 children all under 12 it accepts it!! I would ring again and explain that the 2 other 'adults' are teens and see what they say.

Bingo! Go online and enter 2 adults and 3 children when it gets to the childrens ages it says teens 12 - 16 are for Florida only and it accepts the 3 ages of 9, 13 and 16 :)

From the VH website -

Please note (Florida bookings only): Virgins (12-16 yrs) flying to Miami or Orlando qualify for their own price. If you are travelling to Florida and have teens (12-16 yrs) in your party please enter their ages here. That means that any Florida holiday you take with us where you fly in and out of either Miami or Orlando will get you these new 'teen' prices otherwise the usual rules apply, and only UNDER TWELVES qualify as children. The 'child' and 'teen' prices are shown on the price panel which is linked to the relevant hotel page. In each case the prices apply to children and teens who are sharing a hotel room with 2 adults (EXCEPT in the case of our thoughtful 'Single Parent Virgin' selected hotel.) Please note, different child ages may be applicable with certain offers, please read the offer terms & conditions.

The prices look good for the teens -

All 14 night prices

01 Sep-15 Oct Adult = 1549 Child (3-11) = 329 Teen (12-16) = 519
16 Oct-22 Oct Adult = 1659 Child (3-11) = 399 Teen (12-16) = 579
23 Oct-31 Oct Adult = 1579 Child (3-11) = 289 Teen (12-16) = 539

Hmmm for up til end of next April it accepts 5 person in a room ie 2 adults and 3 teens/children but after April only accepts a max of 2 adults and 2 teens/children, I am guessing this is an error when details were inputted. Give the FVC a call on Monday I am sure they can help.
