Hi,
Just wondering what it's like for eating there. Party of 8 for dinner. Is it worth it or not?

Yes, yes, yes. We had so much fun there. The waiters were really entertaining and the food was great. We didn't have to wait for a table because we were at the HRH but there was a long wait for other people.

The waiters rendition of YMCA had my 9 year old daughter in hysterics!!

We will definately be going back there next year.

Oh - it is noisy inside what with the waiters singing and dancing and the music videos playing everywhere.

Another yes from me, I love the fun atmosphere and the looking at all the memorabilia they have. As long as you're not looking for a quiet meal, you will be fine. And the wait staff doing YMCA is very funny!!

It's a really great place. We always go there while in Orlando; tradition really.

It really is good fun - I got a standing ovation from the waiters when I joined in with YMCA last year (mmm, maybe we won't go in August then, they may remember the mad sun-burned Englishwoman, my DH and DD certainly do ).

The food is not too bad, either. And if you are a fan of rock, just spend time looking at all the memorabilia around the place, upstairs and down . . . and then of course there's the shop

the food, service, shop, and memorabilia are always amazing. I've been to hard rocks all over the world and i've yet to have a bad meal. The servers and shop i orlando are especially good.

Also dont forget that hard rock is included in the "dinner and movie deal" city walk does. it costs $20 each and it gets you a main course(plus a soft drink i think) in certain restaraunts plus a ticket to any movie(plus popcorn i think). pretty good value really.

I love the Hard Rock also, where ever you visit them, the food is always good and the atmosphere excellent. If the HRH is as good as the restuarants, I'll be a happy man.

There's definitely something about the place. In all our trips (12? 13? - I'm losing count ) this is probably the only eatery we've visited every time.

Just wanted to reply to Kevin Harrison who mentioned the HRH. Me and DH stayed here for the first time in May, and I can truthfully say - wow, the place is amazing!! The hotel is gorgeous and they have so much memorabilia everywhere (my favourite was the Slash cabinet, which made my day!) and they play music (good music) everywhere. The rooms were very comfy with good tea and coffee making facilities, and cool toiletries, and the attention to detail everywhere is incredible.

And it really is only a five minute walk to the parks!! I didn't believe that until I had experienced it for myself. And as is often said on these boards, the cost of the hotel is worth it for the front of line access alone. I really felt like a rock star!!

Just to add to the HRH thread which seems to have grown from this (!) We also stayed in May and had such a "wicked" time. I have just booked for next year and extended our stay to 10 nights at CSR and 5 nights at HRH. I felt like a "pop-star" whilst there.

When we went there the waitress tried to con us out of the chage of a 100$ travellers cheque. I know it was a totally isolated incident, but its put us off for life.

We go there when we visit the Universalparks, but not every time. like all themed restaraunts, the food is only so-so and expensive for what you get.

Being a massive music fan, I've always wanted to visit a HRH and when in 2000 we visited Universal and saw the HRH being built - I've wanted to go there. This has been the worst year of my life, but I'm now in a position to be able to stay there and can't wait to have a bit of light relief. Reading all the positive reviews has got me even more anxious to get out there.

Sounds like you're really ready for your break, hope it comes round quickly. And now I know you're a music fan, I know even more how much you will enjoy it. One of my favourite things was spotting the relevant lyrics scattered around the hotel, on the parking desk, bins, no smoking signs, etc.

And one thing I realise that I forgot to mention - the service is excellent. We stopped at the HRH and Disney's Coronado Springs on our most recent trip and the service at HRH was, dare I say it, better than Disney!!

arieljasmine - were you pleased with CSR? we have just booked to go next May (we have only been home 2 weeks!) I will be going alone with my 2 daughters. Husband is not a disney freak - says its too hot, he doesn't like the rides and i get him up too early in the morning!!! Disney holidays are not for lying in bed....you can do that in Spain!?! Life's too short etc etc

I totally agree about the lying in bed at Disney, and have been known to run past dawdling people shouting, "This isn't a holiday, you know, it's Disney!!" And yep, we have just booked to go again at Easter, even though we'd only been back three weeks! The Disney bug has finally bitten my DH as much as me - result!

The CSR is fine. It wasn't my favourite because I thought it a bit impersonal - probably because it is a big conference venue, so they handle a lot of business customers. However, it has the beautiful Disney theming, the rooms are very comfortable, and bigger than the value resorts we have stayed in before. And there was a fridge in our room which surprised and pleased me. There was also a coffee maker and some coffee sachets, sugar, etc. It can be quite a walk from some of the rooms to the bus stops (we were lucky as we got to stay in the cabanas which are the nearest to the reception/food places) but it isn't too bad as there are four bus stops around the site.

We weren't keen on the food court as they seem to have made it overly complicated - you have to get a ticket when you go in, and get it stamped at each stand you get food from, and each person has to have their own ticket. Plus, you have to pay 10% service charge because the wait staff are supposed to get your drinks for you! I begrudged this as we had the refillable mugs, and I just filled them up myself. We didn't try the main restaurant, but it did look nice.

The shop was great, I got a couple of things that I hadn't seen anywhere else, and I thought the selection of drinks you could have in your refillable mugs was the best I had seen (they had cherry coke which always makes me very happy!!)

The CSR also seems to have lots more buses than any other resort - that was one of the reasons we booked to go there, as each time we had been before we noticed that every other bus seemed to be for the CSR! And after seeing some of the bus queues outside MK after Wishes, I was glad we had!

All in all, I'm sure you guys will be fine at CSR. It's Disney so you know you should be able to expect cleanliness and comfort which is the most important thing.
