Harbor House-Galveston

My family and I took our first Disney cruise last year on the Wonder out of Galveston and stayed on Seawall Blvd the night before. I remember someone on the dis board saying the Harbor House was a nice place so could someone that has stayed there please give me some info about it: Can you leave your vehicles parked there throughout the cruise and how much is it? If so is it covered or secured in any way? Is it walking distance to the terminal?

Doing some searching it looks like this is a very popular hotel with many recommendations. Multiple people that stay here walk to the cruise port. It does appear there may be a 2 night minimum on some stays. The website says there is onsite parking for a fee.

It's nice. very easy walk to the cruise terminal in fact it would be nuts to take a cab as it is literally a block away. Loats of restaurants near by withing walking distance ( don't go to the greek one right next to the hotel as it was not very good at all although it does get good reviews). If we go on a cruise out of Galveston again we definately stay there again!

We haven't ever stayed at harbor house, but we will be in November. Looks really nice, gets good reviews all around, within walking distance, and only $10 a day to leave your car there.

We stayed there a few years ago and it was a very nice place and would go back next time that we cruise out of Galveston. They did have free parking available but we ended up parking at the port.

Is it worth the price - for those of you who have been? I booked San Luis for our dates - for 4 (2 adults, 2 kids), and that's $100+ less than Harbor House would be. But am I missing something about the San Luis? I don't mind the 10min drive. Reviews seem mostly positive, but Harbor House is so popular... there must be something that makes it worth the added cost to stay there?

I was going to ask this, too! My wife & I are former Galveston (county) residents, and always make it a point to go have an Olympia Greek salad with the fresh seafood on top when we're back in town visiting friends. I'm getting hungry right now just typing about it...
