Harbor blvd to downtown Disney...

I just realized that we may not be able to walk easily to downtown Disney the first night for dinner without park admission.... Staying at holiday inn express.

With the courtyard between parks can we walk through??? Understand that I may have to go through the security just don't want to use a day that first day.

So, can we walk through from harbor blvd to DD?

Yes no problem at all. You will need to go through security to cross the esplanade but it's no problem.

It's no problem, you don't need a ticket to pass through security to get to DTD.

Nope. Both park entrances are in the esplanade. You will have already passed security and can park hop with nothing further than passing through the turnstiles, with a valid ticket of course.

No. You go through security to enter the esplanade (large courtyard area) between the Magic Kingdom & California Adventure. Going between the two parks you only need a ticket (for first park entrance each day) and a hand stamp & ticket for subsequent entrances to either park.

How fun to explore DLR for the first time! There are lots of great restaurants at DTD, but there are lots of fun places on the streets bordering both parks, also.

If you look at the Esplanade, you'll see, from left to right: West Security, West ticket booths, East ticket booths, East Security. So if you're going east/west through the Esplanade, you have to pass through security. But going north/south, i.e. from park to park, you don't pass through security. You're already in the secure area.
