So very excited to get to see (and EAT!) at the new Harambe Market. It is on a walk-through path that now connects the Asia walkway with the area near the trainstop for Rafiki's Planet watch.
The theming is great, and there are 4-5 different "shops" with a variety of African themed foods.
These are great counter service options for those on the DDP, and great value OOP.
To the right of the Rib shop, you can see the train to Rafiki's travel past.
The wooden tables and benches are beautiful, have already told DH we need to make some for the Farm!
Oh yes. There was food. Lots of food. As a good DIS reporter, I felt it imperative that we try some of everything. I think we nearly succeeded.
Left to Right, Beef flatbread, Chicken K Bob, Milk Tart (chocolate crust, coconut filling) Drinks,
Watermelon Lemonade (snack credit, not a beverage, SOOO worth it!!!) Red is Sparberry Soda, Green is another of the Coke foreign sodas. Both were terrific, and a nice change from the usual choices.
Not your usual corndog, this is real sausage in a light cornbread/curry breading. Very tasty. All the meals came with the broccoli salad. Nice and refreshing, and different. My guess is that it will not last long as it is pretty high in acid, so the general public may not embrace it. Son's new fiancé would not even try it.
If that looks like a big pile of meat, you win! That is the "spare rib" dish. May have pulled out 2 small bones, the rest was all meat. This is the side view cut.
Lots of fun signs and theming around this area. A SUPER addition to AK!!!
(Yes, I made our family shirts with the signs from the AK walls. The CM's loved them!!!)
DS's beautiful new fiancé! (Proposed just before Wishes on Main Street!)
Kwaharini, Y'all!
