Well I cashed in my points about a week 1/2 ago and decided to use them for shell gas cards since we are driving down to WDW. Been saving the points for a while and got $50 dollars out of the deal. I am very happy about this especially with gas prices spiking like they have. Just wondering how many others of you out there save your points specifically for a Disney trip, and what do you like to redeem them for?

I love mypoints! Fortunately, I regularly order supplies for work so I often get 5000 points in a month from Office Depot. I don't save the points specifically for Disney but I'm thinking about redeeming some for our trip today. Usually I redeem points for Home Depot gift certificates so I can add to the landscaping on our house.

We usually get Rainforest Cafe gift certificates and eat at the one in DTD while we are there.

We drive to Florida so I use mine for Marriott Gift Cheques for our overnight stay in Rocky Mount NC. They come in $25 cheques so they work great! :flower:

What are Mypoints?Just wondering, thanks!
MyPoints.com is a rewards program that offers points in exchange for shopping thru their online shopping portal, reading emails and signing up for various offers. They've been around for a long time and have a very good reputation for sending their rewards in a timely fashion.

I usually redeem my points for Webcertificates. That way, I can combine them with webbies from other rewards program. Since the webcertificate debit card is accepted anywhere MasterCard is taken, I find it to be the most flexible of all the rewards. I just recently found out that DH was sitting on over 8000 points in his account! I cashed them in for 2 $25 webbies and a $10 one. That will bring my total to over $250 in my account.

Yep! I'm gonna use 'em for WDW.

I love MyPoints, but I've yet to use them for Disney. But yesterday when I checked my balance and saw how many I had, I thought I should keep saving them until we're ready to go to WDW and then I think I'll end up cashing them in for Rainforest Cafe...so that'll be one "free" meal.

Can you redeem for webcertificates, then turn them into plastic cards, and then take that to the Disney Store and purchase Disney Dollars?

I cash mine in for Webcertificates too. I then go to Disneydirect.com and get gift cards for Disney Dollars in the store. Unfortunately now all Disney Dollars are gone until May which is okay for our trip in June. I have $200 in gift cards ready to redeem.

In my experience it's best to use a "junk" email account that you will check regularly - create a new one for free from yahoo. I have to say that I get a few emails a day from Mypoints (you get points from reading your email). If you do some other signups to get points - this is where you may end up getting a bunch more email from. I think Mypoints is pretty good about not sending you stuff you dont' want but they can't speak for the other sites that are linked from their sites.

You get points for reading your email, signing up for free trials/offers, and buying from stores (common stores like jcpenney, old navy, sears, and of course DisneyStore, and much more).

It's free to sign up and I feel it's worth it.

Awww.that's cute you can actually redeem them for Disney Dollars by chosing "Vacation Miles". it takes you to another page which lists Disney packages but the only thing listed are Disney Dollars. They list packages here but the only thing I see to redeem is Disney Dollars ($100 for 12,250 points).

Just in case anyone was wondering. I don't have that many points yet.

Also on a side note - can you use DisneY Dollars at the restaurants in the parks?

marriedmarylander How long does it usually take to receive the Disney Dollars? That may be a good option for me but we're leaving in less than two weeks. However, my Home Depot gift certificates usually come within a couple days.

Yes, and at the food carts. They're great for the Mickey bars! :mickeybar

I use my points for Disney by getting gas cards for my rental car and Walmart cards for the grocery/supplies stop before the hotel. Free snacks!

I'm saving mine for gas and hotels as well. We had free gas all the way to West Virginia and back last May doing this. And we got the cards SO fast after cashing them in. :cool1:

So excited about this! I never even thought to use mypoints for disney dollars. I was only thinking about the rainforest cafe!! Anyone else use other methods of saving for WDW?

I've been very happy with them as well. I always get Rainforest GC for our trips as well.

I love mypoints and I've been a member for many years. I remember when we had many reward websites and this is the only one I do now.

I redeem for Webcertificates and I got Webcertificate Mastercard a few years ago for $5 and when it's about to expire, I call and get it updated so I've never had to give any more money for the card.

Anyway, as soon as I get $25 I cash it in for a webcertificate and then I go to the Disney Store and buy Disney Dollars. One year I just left the money on the card and brought the card to WDW and just bought something that was $25 but I prefer to get Disney Dollars with it.

I only do the emails and sometimes buy stuff through it and that's about it. I get $25 a year. I don't work that hard at it so I only average about that much a year.

I love My Points! It is the best reward program out there, in my opinion.

We used ours for a Marriott gift check for $75 on our last trip! I helped pay for some of our extras at the timeshare!:sunny:
Since we did so well, I made my husband open an account too so I got points for him opening one plus we have double the points now. (At least on the clickable ones) By the way, Max is in Books and Media today..go get him for 10 points :moped: :)

Books/Media...thats too funny, as I have NEVER found him! Wait, I still don't see him! Grrrr, am I blind? Did they move him?
