Greetings all!
It's been quite some time since I've been a member of a vibrant Disney forum. It seems Facebook has stolen the thunder and users from most of the niche boards to which I contributed. Lurking here prior to registering its clear that the disboards is wonderfully relevant to the Disney community and I hope to be a positive presence.
As a bit of background, my Disney addiction came late, in my early twenties (I'm 43 now) when a pack of friends and I descended on Disneyland as a lark. I didn't take the trip seriously and quite frankly thought I had better things to, except that my best friend, seven years my senior, was a fan. All I had to do was walk through the turnstyle, under the train tracks, and see the castle... and I was hooked! I have been ever since.
Living on the west coast, Disneyland was my home park through most of my 20s and 30s. In 2005 I moved to Naples, FL and discovered Walt Disney World and for a year, IT was my home park. As a result I have the blessing of being very familiar with the resorts on both coasts. I'm here in the west now and frequent Disneyland usually once a month, though still find time to head back east once a year.
In 2006, I began a podcast, the Mouse Lounge (download in the iTunes store). Now about to celebrate its 5th anniversary, the show and website are as fun as ever! Have a listen and a look to see what I mean. The show focuses on Walt Disney history and lore, the films, archival audio, music, and live audio from the parks while the website will keep you current on Disney news as well as maintaining a comprehensive database of ALL the unofficial Disney podcasts, both past and present!
Enough about me. Time to read some of YOUR thoughts, and I look forward to participating!!
