Happy to answer POFQ questions - just returned yesterday!

Praise to Him...Our Fall break actually does not start until October14 but we are leaving out a few days early. We will get there on the tenth. Look for us. It will be DH and two BLONDE DD's age 3 and 7. (Not alot to go on, huh!) Would love to chat by the pool.

BLUEFAIRY----So funny we have been looking at houses on 280! I just dont know about that traffic! Thanks for all the great POFQ info. I was worried that I had made the wrong decision, but from what I hear it sounds very nice. I also hear that no matter what building you are in the walk to food court and busses will not be long. Can you recommend a building for me to request that will be close to everything? Thanks a ton!

Thanks for the review! I stayed at PO-FQ in 1994, and loved it! If we can make it back to WDW in March, I am definately staying at PO-FQ!!!!!!!

Thanks for your review!! DH and I will be staying at POFG in November for 6 days for the first part of our honeymoon (part 2 is the Disney cruise the following week). I"ve been to WDW only twice in my life and never stayed there so I"m VERY excited and very anxious to get there!!!!!

This may be the wrong place to ask my general question but since we are going to stay in POFQ in a few weeks I thought I'd take the opportunity to say thanks for the review. This is our first resort stay at the World and I'm glad to hear you had good things to say. I am wondering if we have to be a GF resort guest to take advantage of some of the activities there (ie Grand Cooking Adventure; beachfront access; barge parade). I have a nearly 6 yr old that I thought night enjoy the event (cooking) and I thought I could occupy my 2 yr old with water/sand if possible.

Also, can you meet the caravan at another resort? If for example we are staying at PO and it only comes W/F and we want to see them on Th?

Thanks for any advice!

BamaDisney - If you're not used to the traffic it will be a shocker, esp. if you are south of 459 and have to get into downtown everyday. We live closer and have flexible work hours, so we miss the rush hour most days.
If you want a garden view I would definitely recommend building 4. Building 2 and 5 are closest for water views. The resort is very compact, so the idea that all are good locations is true.
Ladybelle - you probably need to start a new thread to get the expert opinion. My understanding is you can do Grand Cooking and see the water parade. Just make a reservation and tell the security why you're there. They can give you a parking pass. Don't know about the beach, though I don't see why not. Just remember there's no swimming in the lake.
I think you can see the caravans at other resorts. We tried to catch the one at the Poly on our breakfast day there, but it was the wrong day of the week. Having a PS for dining will get you in most places. We did notice that security is tighter at the resorts. They make sure your name is on the list before letting you in for parking.

Ladybelle,
You don't have to be a guest at GF to take advantage of the activities. My nieces have done the Grand Cooking Adventure, Tea Party and Pirates Cruise from GF and we were not guests of GF.
