A baseball team had just won the championship game and the players wanted to congratulate each other. They began shaking hands, but each player only shook hands with every other player just once. There are, of course, only 9 players on a baseball team. How many times did the players shake hands?

For those of you following baseball.....sadly our Red Sox lost in the 12th inning last night.....5-4....but there is game two at 4:06pm today!!!!!

I offer, for us simple-minded math people, an alternative to today's riddle.

Part 1: The Red Sox finished the game at about 3 a.m. (EDT) and will play again at 4:06 p.m. (EDT) How long to they have to recover?
Part 2: DH stayed up to watch all 12 innings.....and had to get up at 5 a.m. today. How far away from him should I stay since he'll be in such a great mood....at least they could have won!
