I'm so excited that we're having DEAR time at school today: Drop Everything And Read!!!

I don't remember the last time I had an ENTIRE hour to read without falling asleep!!!!!

I'm reading 2 books right now, The 3rd Kingdom Keepers and Spinning Disney's World......

You mean it's not Read Across America day ever day? Oops! I'm reading Becoming the Woman God Wants Me to Be and The Glass Castle. Reading is always a good idea!

Everyday is Reading Day for me. I'm a full time college student and someone who enjoys reading for pleasure. I have books that I am reading and stacks of books that are "on deck". We are also Kindle owners, so the opportunities are pretty endless. The only thing that is lacking is the time to read everything I want and need to read.

There is a lyric in an old Irving Berlin song that kind of describes an ideal day and I can surely relate. The song is called "Lazy" and the lyrics in question are these:

"...with a great big valiseful
of books to read where it's peaceful,
while I'm spending time, being lazy!"


Of course, days like this are few and far between these days. But every now and then I'll spend an entire day, without ever leaving the house, reading all day long.

My daughters school is celebrating all week!! Crazy hat day, dress as your favorite character, book fair, pajama night for the young classes and the older classes come and read. I love this week at school.

We had a huge celebration at school today for Dr. Suess's birthday. It was super fun.

Just took my 4th graders into our "Cafe" to serenade the 1st graders with "Green Eggs and Ham" from Seussical the Musical.

So cute!!!!

It's our 'World Book Day' tomorrow in the UK.

We have to go to school dressed as a word. I am going as 'childish' and dressing up in all my Disney clothing with my hair in bunches!

Currently just finished reading my book club book and Spinning Disney's World!

It is Pajama Day at DS's school. Everyone wears their jammies, brings loads of books and they spend the day reading. They even have guest readers come in throughout the day to read to them. Fun!
