It was our second MK day today and I had lots of plans in store. I made sure we got to the TTC about 8:15 and we went to wait for the monorail. I asked the CM if we could go at the front and she said yes! So off I trekked with Dean and Cara to the front. What a great view going through the Contemporary. In no time at all, we pulled in to the MK and there was a crowd forming already. Well I had secured surprise 1 of the dya , it was now time for surprise 2. I took cara as close as I could to the rope and told the others to meet me at the barbershop. At rope drop, me and cara ran as fast as we could up Main Street. It was a great feeling to have a deserted street just for us. I nearly made it to the hub and had to slow down to a walk. Its further than it looks you know. Well they hadnt dropped the rope yet so all that running was for nothing; typical. I stood on the left hand side and as soon as it dropped charged into Tinkerbells Treasures. Is Tinkerbell awake yet? I asked. That was fast said the CM. Cara stood on a stool behind the counter and was given a magic wand. The Cm gave her instructions to tap on the box 3 times saying Wake up Tinkerbell. cara did as she was told and there was a flash of light round the room as well as that Tinkerbell jingle. Cara was awestruck WOW Mummy! Just the reaction I had hoped for. Cara was given a magical Moments certificate and shown where Tink had flown to (the top draw of the dresser in the shop). I highly recommend this to anyone that can get here fast enough to try.
Right, on to surprise 3. We got to the barbershop where daddy had been instructed to make a start without me. Dean was now covered in glitter and had a blue Hidden Mickey etched in the back of his head. Charlie was next and I explained to the CM that it was his first haircut. We were promptly issued with embroidered mickey ears that said first haircut on them as well as a magical moments certificate for Charlie. Oh, my morning was going well and it wasnt even 9:30. Yeah for the DIS for filling me in on all this magic.
We had time before we had to meet for surprise 4 at 10am so we had a stroll up main St and stopped at the bakery where I had a gorgeous breakfast flan/ quiche. A bit greasy but so yummy, and we sat outside so we could watch the dancers on the trolley. The Disney spirit was flowing this morning. It was about time to go meet up for the Family Magic Tour. I will try not to give away too much but please skip this paragraph if you would like to save the surprise for yourself and trust me, this was a lot of fun. It was basically a hunt all over the MK, following clues with a lot of help from our tour guide and I got to see things I had never noticed before like the wishing well and Cinderellas fountain in fantasyland. It involved playing out different animals, leaping and hopping, pixie dust and a lot of silliness which a few people were reluctant to do at first, but were so glad they did. At the final clue, a special character popped up to help us solve the riddle. None other than Wendy from Peter Pan. My kids are crazy about everything to do with Peter Pan which is why I had booked this in the first place. She posed for pictures, signed autographs and we had her all to ourselves for a good 15 minutes. She was brilliant at her character too. We were then escorted through MK by Wendy to Philarmagic, the whole time my kids were holding her hands and she was teasing Dean about being a pirate. We used VIP entry and sat in the front row. Wendy seemed to love the Peter pan sequence and was sitting cross legged chatting with the children through the show. It was the most wonderful pixie dust time ever for my children to have this undivided attention from a character and something they will remember forever. At the end, they got another magic moments certificate (are you keeping track, that would be 3 today) and it was signed by both Wendy and Peter Pan. She promised to look out for them at the parade later.
Well I will be back later with the rest of our day. Hope you enjoyed it so far,
Claire xx
