Happy happy New Year to all my wonderful friends on the DISboards! This has been another wonderful year filled with amazing information and photos and overall love for our favorite place! Let's make 2010 a year filled with adventure, excitement, culture, joy, success, peace, good health, friends & family and new experiences...and always let the ones you love know how much you cherish them!

Now...does anyone have any 'Disney resolutions' for the new year? Yes, yes, many of us have the typical ones - lose weight, stop smoking, save money, start a family, repair a rift with an old friend - whatever it may be. Those are the 'real life' resolutions. But does anyone have anything in particular that they want to accomplish when it comes to Disney/DLR/WDW, etc.? For example, I want to make a point of trying a new character meal in 2010. (Oh, don't get excited - Goofy's is still #1 to me - in fact, this last meal I had there even surpassed my previous meals there! It was great!:rotfl2:), but I want to visit Minnie & Friends or the Surf's Up with Mickey meal in 2010. I also want to search out more Christmas trees hiding around DLR and take more photos. I want to try to stay at the GCH once again.

What about you? Any 'Disney resolutions'?

This year I want to go to DL more than once and I definately want to stay at the DL Hotel...other than that, Im not picky! LOL :cool1:

Actually, I should add that to my Disney Resolution list too. Oddly, as much as I used to love and stay at the DLH between like 1988 and 1995 or so, I have not stayed there since 1995! Everything has been the PPH or the GCH for me, and DLH has fallen to the wayside. I should try to get back to the place where it all began!:rotfl2:

HMMM...goals for this year 1. lose 35lbs (docs orders), and the second and most important one as far as I'm concerned is to save for our trip to DL in Feb/2011.

Eat lunch (or dinner) at BB with my little sister, and to use my PAP much, much more! Gotta get my money's worth!

Great, everyone! Keep them coming! And Sonnyjane, you reminded me of another one of my Disney Resolutions. I did not renew my AP this year (it expired in October), so I hope to renew it in 2010, and try to get a bit more use out of it! Even though I felt I got my money's worth out of the PAP I had in 2008-2009 with discounts and admission and all that, I would have liked to squeeze one more trip out of the AP when I had it. So I will aim for getting another one in 2010, and time it just right so that I get 3 extended weekend Halloween or Christmas stays out of it over the course of late 2010 - 2011!

My Disney resolutions are:

Make it to DL at least once
Try the Surfs Up character breakfast (Gosh, that will be so hard not going to Goofy's but I've been talking about trying a new character breakfast for a long time now)
Maybe get the annual passes for the family
Book the DCL Mexican Riviera for 2011

My Disney resolutions:

1. Figure out how the Give-A-Day-Get-A-Day promo works and participate, ensuring we will have 5 single-day park tickets to use this summer or fall when we're in town. (We'll have to pay for the 5-year-old, go figure:rolleyes:)
2. Get to see DLR at Christmastime -- it's been too many years (and Sherry, your trip report made me REALLY want to go next year)
3. Start pre-planning the big family trip to WDW in Oct 2011. I know it's OCD to start this soon, but I'm happiest when I have something to look forward to!

Many mousey wishes for all!

PHXscuba

My DL resolutions are:

1. Make use of my recently purchased AP and go at least twice this year
2. Ride new (new to me) rides as I'm not a big rider
3.Try to persuade my DH to invest in DVC at GCV

I usually don't make resolutions, but these are fun ones so hopefully I will be successful!

Happy New Years!

1. Do the Give a Day, Get a Day volunteer work with both my church group (ages 16-18) and my family
2. Go to Disneyland with my best friend (more than once!)
3. Go to Disneyland during Senior Week!
4. Renew my AP in April so I can go all summer
5. Visit Disneyland on most of my college vacations

Basically - I want to go a lot this year to stock up Disney memories for college! ;)

Great thread Sherry E! Here goes:

1. volunteer for Give a Day, Get a Day. So excited about this one!
2. After watching Guy Fieri's special, I MUST eat everything that he showed: from the crepes to the peppermint ice cream to the dinner at Napa Rose.

Brancaneve - The peppermint stick ice cream at Gibson Girl is so yummy (although I was not quite hungry enough to get the festive holiday cone, but maybe I can do that in 2010).

PHXscuba, I am glad you looked over my short TR! I only wish I had been at DLR for a longer period of time to take more pictures and hunt for more trees!! You know I partially stuck the peppermint ice cream photo in the TR for you, because I know you are a fellow peppermint fan! Yes, you MUST get back to DLR for the holidays! It is so much more magical than Halloweentime, I think! (By the way, I am glad your large group had a great time at Goofy's when you went in October and that it worked out well for everyone!)

Oh - that reminds me of another Disney Resolution - I simply MUST try one of the peppermint cupcakes in 2010! I would have done it during my DLR holiday trip on the 19th, but it was only a day trip and there is only so much I can eat in a day!!:rotfl2: If I had been there for a weekend, I surely would have scarfed down most of the peppermint treats in DLR, as well as all the yummy cookies! Hmmm...maybe it is good I only went for a day - I might not have been able to walk out of DLR if I had eaten all those goodies!

Kkmcan - I know what you mean. It feels weird to not eat at Goofy's when you are used to eating there. That's how I felt in October when we went to Storytellers instead of Goofy's. I felt like I was cheating!!:rotfl2: But I will find a way to work in the Surf's Up with Mickey meal because a character meal wiht Mickey is too good to pass up!

Ashley (Callmeblissful) - Wow! You do plan to get to DLR a lot!!! I hope you accomplish your goals to stock up on the DLR memories to take with you to college! (I can't believe you and I missed each other at DLR by one day this month!!! I most definitely would have wanted to meet and say hello!)!

And to everyone else who has replied so far, great ideas! I love the idea of riding things previously overlooked or ignored!

And I have another Disney Resolution - hopefully, in 2010, I will finally FINALLY get to meet some of my fellow mods and DIS-ers and my DIS-friends!

1. Help in the Give a day, get a day promo
2. Upgrade that 1 day ticket to a hopper to go see WoC
3. Give my friends an amazing day at DL when I go with my high school band in March
4. Have an amazing 2nd trip to WDW, staying onsite, hopefully with cousins.
5. If I go to college in So. Cal in the fall, I might just have to be one of those pesky So. Cal AP holders. ;)

DLR29, I want to be a pesky AP holder too! I was disappointed that I didn't renew this year (though it actually kind of worked out for the best) because I wanted to be part of the high crowd levels!:rotfl2::rotfl2: I am aiming for that in 2010, though (of course, by the time I get a new AP, who knows what the price will be at that time?).

I want to do the Give a Day, Get a Day thing as well, but unless I missed something, where/how do we find out which places are participating where we can volunteer? Or has it not been announced yet? I couldn't find it on Disneyparks.com, though I read all the other stuff about the program.

1. Find our way back to WDW (maybe coupled with a Disney Cruise.... dreaming)
2. Motivate friends and family (particularly AP holders) to volunteer with me for the Give a Day, Get a Day and donate our free ticket to charity.

Our family has only visited WDW in the summer, so we hope to go for at least a week there during Christmas 2010. :goodvibes

1. Stay at the GCH
2. Make a trip with just DH & I(hopefully at the GCH!)
3. Save for our first trip to WDW in Dec 2011

Oooh...what a fun thread, Sherry!

Here are mine:
1. Visit DLR at least 2x next year before my PAP expires.
2. Go to the Mickey's Surfs Up character meal.
3. Find Pocahontas and take a picture with her.
4. Attempt to look for Hidden Mickeys (I'm so bad at those!)
5. Ride at least one new ride that I have not been on yet.
6. See the WoC.

my Disney related resolution is to pay off my Thomas Kinkade Disney paintings, lol!

seriously, we were expecting to have to pay for a new one every 6 months but i think there are already 4 out and we just got the first one in april, so that's twice as many paintings as we were expecting to have to pay for in a year's time. they are wonderful paintings, though.

my other Disney related resolution is to not let the fact that i have to pay off these paintings keep me from being able to head down to DLR this year.

AND, i get to move back to cali in 2010!! so now i'll only have a 7 hour drive to the land, instead of a 2 day drive, WOOHOOO!!

I think all of the details about the promo are being announced tomorrow. :yay:
