Well here we go again, due to unforeseen circumstances last years trippie ended at the pre-trippie! We were home two weeks before my cat needed numerous trips to the vet (I am pleased to report that he is now fighting fit). Immediately after that my nan was taken to hospital where she stayed for three months, before we had to make the difficult decision to choose a care home for her, three months later she is loving it and like a new lady, she has discovered her knitting again, and loves a gossip with the residents, its a great weight of our mind... Needless to stay the first six months of the year were not the best.
Fingers crossed that this gets to be the pre-trippie that leads to the actual trip report.
I know I have been absent for the DIS for a lot of this year, so for those of you who don't know us, here we are:
Me (Jules), 39 loves to plan, loves the mouse, loves the world, my happy place
Ian (39) leaves it all to me, but loves the place as much as I do, to sum his attitiude up he saw a post today entitled "How to do ADRS's when you don't know the park hours" he casually answered to me "you get a bear", I have always been his bear, don't ask why, because I have no idea?? He is soon to be 40 and don't I know it, 2010 seems to have become "The Year of a Million 40th Celebrations".
So 2009 has seen numerous camping weekends, the GGG3, Glastonbury, you will note a lot of tenting has gone on, November 17th sees us off to Cuba with our best mates for two weeks, where we hope to chill, drink and be merry. The question remained what of our DVC points, we knew we wanted to bank some for one of the million 40th celebrations, but could afford to use some. The plan was hatched, we both felt it only fair to spend Christmas Day with my dad this year as we have been gone the past two, but New Year would be practically perfect in every way!!
In February I booked us a flydrive with Virgin departing December 27th, and at the same time booked us into The Cumberland House in Horley for Boxing Night, its good to chill out the night before and gives the opportunity for a pre-holiday booze up...
Saratoga Springs was booked for eight nights as soon as our seven month window came up, the usual requests, upper floor, Congress Park, view of Downtown Disney - fingers crossed. At eleven months I was able to swap our first two nights to Kidani Savannah, which we are both really excited about.
ADRS have been booked and the plan of attack looks something like this:
December 26th make the journey to Gatwick, twilight check in, before much merriment in Horley to get the holiday off with a bang.
December 27th fly to Orlando, quick stop at Publix to stock up on the essentials (beer and wine) before checking into Kidani, our first dinner is at Jiko,
December 28th - Animal Kingdom, we were thinking of giving it a miss as time is precious this year, but I need my fix of the Dawa Bar. We hope to spend some time appreciating the resort before phoning our beloved Papa John in the evening whilst enjoying the views of the Savannah.
December 29th - up and at them early to head for Saratoga to try and get our room requests, before breakfast at Kona, and a few hours at MK, back to the resort a whizz around the Osbourne Lights, before drinkies at The Belle Vue Lounge and a late dinner at The Flying Fish
December 30th - chilling at the resort, before a few hours at Downtown Disney where I am sure our favourite Margarita Bar will feature, before heading to the Wave for dinner. We will then head to the MK for the late night festivies, we love The Magic Kingdom on the 30th where we get to see the sneak peak of Fantasy In The Sky before New Years Eve
December 31st - Epcot - Updated - we will meet up with our maties Mandy and Paul to recreate last years celebration, we had a blast! The plan I think is a few drinks before early dinner at Tutto Italia, we both decided that the sensible thing would be to eat something this year, I am sure we will wash it down with Mr Pinot. We can then pick up our hats and blowers before heading to The Rose and Crown for the 7.00pm party, after that the World is literally our cockle. I can't wait for this night, I am sure we will have some antics to share with you all - promise not to lose myself this year Mand. Here is a pic from last year:
January 1st - recovery day, I am sure that Downtown Disney will feature heavily and we hope to try Paradio 37 in the evening - tequila is your friend..
January 2nd - shopping, we will head to The Mall at Millennia for yankee candles, jimmy choo choo and it would be rude to walk past Tiffanys!! Dinner is booked for Narcoossees and in time with watching Wishes.... We hope to head for the Tambu Lounge afterwards, I need a lapu lapu.
January 3rd - our last day, will be spent at Epcot, where we have booked the annual tradition of dinner at Rose and Crown for Illuminations..
So thats it, I am sure there will be much good food, much relaxing on the balcony and as many ritas as possible, we are both very excited to try the new tequila bar at Mexico..
I promise that I really will try to get the actual report done this year, fingers crossed we will have a Happy New Year, and circumstances won't get in the way again - thanks for reading.
