What did you do to celebrate?

I ran 4 this morning. My legs are cranky after 2 hard workouts in a row, but that's the joy of running, right! :goodvibes

How funny. National running day is the only day I'm not running this week. ;)

Did my 4-mile Tempo run this am but brought it indoors on the treadmill at the gym. It is BRUTALLY hot out there. Thanks for the reminder, I had totally forgotten it was National Running Day! :goodvibes

I celebrated by getting hit by a car during my 5-mile run this morning. Be careful out there people. :)

My god, are you okay? I'm assuming that since you are posting, you're somewhat okay, but what happened?

Hope you are okay!

I ran around 7 mile..if you call what I did run. It was HOT and humid, my GPS didn't pick up so I ran (some walking) a route I knew is around 7 miles and decided to run for and hour, but with some walking I was out for 70 min.

I hope to get a run in this afternoon. Hopefully my running trail isn't under water with the flooding out here :-)

We are gonna take a leisurely 6 miler into town and probably grab a Dairy Queen or Oberweis treat. (I know that kind of counteracts the exercise, but its the only way DP will go with me.)

Gee John, :confused3, sounds like you're OK though. Dumb cars/drivers.

Out for 9.41 miles this morning. Getting out with DW after dinner preparing for the DL 1/2M. Should be out of the 90*s by then.

Thanks for your concern everyone. Aside from a growing knot in my upper back, I'm fine.

I was heading across a road near my house (with the pedestrian crossing lights in my direction), and a woman turning left (from my right) was yakking on her cell phone, didn't see me, and hit me with her side view mirror and rear corner. I pounded on her window as she went by, but I don't think she ever got off her cell phone. She pulled into the parking lot of the gas station on the corner and ran over the curb several times as she drove through the lot. She never bothered to stop and see if I was okay, and since I wasn't hurt, I didn't bother to chase after her and just kept on heading for home. I wish I had been wearing my heart rate monitor because I bet it went from 110 to 300 instantaneously.

The odd thing is that as I was standing at the crosswalk waiting for the light to change, I saw her SUV pull well past the white "stop here" line as she was talking on the phone. I figured that with that much of a head start, she'd easily make it across the intersection in front of me. When she didn't, I assumed she'd slowed down to let me go by, which is right about the time when she came into my peripheral vision and whacked me. It's a good thing I had noticed her while I was standing there because without the knowledge she was there, I might have been less aware of what was happening and really gotten hit.

Be careful out there, and don't forget to wear your RoadID or other form of identification.

OMG John! I'm so glad you were OK! That could have been a real disaster - I can't BELIEVE she didn't even stop to see if you were OK, much less even know whether she hit you or not! That is just ridiculous.

You bring up such a good point about the Road ID - I've been meaning to get one of those. I have one built into my hydration belt but I really need one to keep on me ALL the time.

Hope your back is going to be OK and so glad it was not much worse!!

I'm glad you are ok John.

I did a hot and hilly 5 miles. It was not a great run but it was a run.

Glad you're OK, John! There is an intersection near my house I hate due to crazy drivers who ignore pedestrian right-of-ways.

It was a rest day in my training plan so I didn't run, but I went to a running store and spent money, which will have to do for this year's celebration. :)
