We are using Happy Limo to get from Port Orleans Riverside to Port Canaveral next week. There will be 12 of us in 1 vehicle. How much do we tip the driver? Is it per bag, per person, % of total for the bill? Thoughts? Thanks
I usually tip 20% of the total - yes that will be a lot but the idea is that the driver will be doing more work - more luggage because of the large group, etc.
We pre-paid the tip and the driver tried to get us to tip him. Good thing DH had the paperwork to prove the driver had already been tipped -- he didn't need 40%.
a 20% gratuity is the accepted norm...for everything but luggage handlers. I drove limo in a past life and advise you to carefully read your contracted price to see if a tip hasn't been included. A driver would be slightly crazy to tell you he had already been tipped out for that trip.... so a $96 dollar trip ($80 + $16 tip) would mean u would tip $19.20 (round up to $20) and the driver would get a $36 tip on an $80 fare....nice work if you can get it. Be careful!!
