Happy Limo Never Showed Up At Pc Today

FYI: Not all town car services utilize independant drivers. While many do, some also own their fleet of cars and then hire the drivers as an employee.

IMHO, I don't care if the drivers and cars are independant contractors or not, I will not get in a car I feel to be unsafe or unclean, and I will not tolerate a driver who is rude. I have spent too much time traveling for business to accept poor service, when I know there is someone who will provide superior service.

TiggerKing,

What is your suggestion to do if you find that you have a driver or car like this? Should you call the company and request another one? Or should you just get a taxi? I want to know what I should do (in your opinion) if we encounter this situation. Although, I hope we do not!

Based on recomendations on this board we used Happy Limo in Oct 02. We arrived at MCO a few minutes early, and gave them the benefit of the doubt as they were not there. After approx 20 mins (15 mins after the agreed time) we phoned them, they were very apolgetic, but didn't know where the driver was and sent someone else. They said he would be 30 mins, it was nearer 45. The driver was very courteous and put a DVD on for our son, but based on this experience I would not use them again. We usually hire a car but as it was only one night (we went direct to Cocoa Beach) we didn't bother - we will next time!

We have used Tiffany numerous times and have been very well satisfied with their professionalism and service.

I booked Tiffany last Sept, and they sent an independent contractor. He was parked way far away from the luggage pickup, and the luggage porter took our luggage much farther than he was supposed to to get us taken care of. I had to push my mil in a wheelchair that also wasn't supposed to be taken that far from the terminal and we each had 2 bags plus a carryon. Our driver took the carryon, but didn't worry about anything larger. We usually just rent a car, but my husband wasn't with us, so I didn't want to rent.

DVCajun,
Rabbit's company is a totally different company than Happy Limo, and he is not associated with them at all.
We have had fantastic luck with Happy on many, many trips and have never been left stranded even when our flight was very late. This time around, we suspected that there would be mass confusion based on my conversations with Disney Cruise Line and the port madness, so we rented a car going out and took the DCL buses coming back (would have rented on that end too, but didn't know which port we'd be returning to). I know how awful it must have felt to be stranded, but based on all the times we've used them and had excellent service, I would give them the benefit of the doubt if I had upcoming ressies with them. Even when it was decided that we could come into Port Canaveral, that's wasn't final because it could have changed if the winds had been to strong. This has been a heck of a season, and I hope to never see another one like it!

Another thumbs up for Southern Elegance.

I like that they do NOT automatically include a 20% tip. Every professionally handled and I would use them again.

I will just add to this about transportation... We used Mears Transportation. They were a bit expensive, but we thought that it would be worth it. Our experience started really bad as we had an appointment and our plane was late. We ended up waiting at the airport over 2 hours for a van to take us to our downtown disney hotel. The driver of the van continued to doze off as he was driving irratically. As soon as we got to the hotel, I called Mears and complained. The next morning, they picked us up right on time and took us to mco to catch the disney transfer bus. When we returned home, I wrote a letter to mears explaining my dissatisfaction with their service and they wrote me back an apology letter along with a check for the first leg pick-up from mco to our hotel.

My recommendation is to ALWAYS write the company a letter. I truely feel that more will be accomplished if you write, because anyone can call and complain. But if you take the time to write a letter, your complaint must be legitament and very serious. And more times than not, I have received a refund or credit for crappy service!

Please check out my separate thread concerning Southern Elegance Limo.

We used them this past cruise and were extremely pleased. I go into more info on the other thread.

Just an FYI....Mears transportation runs the DCL transfer buses...the buses are not Disney owned.

Well, we are renting a car and driving to the port for our December cruise. We get a corporate discount from a major rentail company so for the trip to the port and for the two days we have the car (we arrive two days prior to the cruise) it is only $70 + tax.

We are dropping off the car at the port and then picking up another car for the remainder of our trip. It just makes life easier for us. I have had my share of wierd, smelly, drugged out and non-English speaking limo drivers. No thanks. I'll drive myself!!

Well, it was my self and my friend who were stranded by "Happy" limo at PC saturday... Actually there were THREE separate groups waiting on Happy Limo that were ALL abandoned.. the ones I felt worst about was the family who had a 12 noon flight out of MCO, they were absolutly beside themselves... can you imagine...? They ened up getting a ride in a rental car shuttle in the hopes of making it in time...
I don't care what Happy's excuse was, they NEVER contacted the parties to confirm the ship's status, or to let us know they WERE NOT COMING... they just did not show up... this is UNEXCUSABLE! I WOULD NEVER EVER use them again... I encourage others to step up and share experiences with other companies so we can find a new limo company... I think Happy Limo basically grew too fast and lost sight of the quality of service they used to have... I would hate to see anyone miss their flight or cruise because of their disregard and discourteous behavior...

I was on the "5 day Wonder" that sailed 9/2. Andy from FLTours stayed in touch with me by email the entire time, and with my husband (who was at our home) by telephone, and he kept agreeing to change our pickup dates and times, each time we thought we would port. Disney was going to put us in a resort hotel if we got into port on Monday, then on Tuesday they finally bussed us to Orlando airport from Port Everglades. Andy's email to me on Monday morning was "we will pick you up at a Disney resort at 5 pm, just somehow let me know which one". Then Disney transported us, and Andy emailed me with a "glad you got home safely" message and details about sending a refund to me for the trip to Orlando that we never took in his limousine. He stayed in contact with me every day, and answered every email. I have used FLTours before, and will only call them for limo service from now on.

sorry guys... we have used happy more times than i can count and have always had a positive experience. last week's occurances were crazy and there was so much speculation going around about where the ship would be on what date. I am certain that Happy never intended to "stand anyone up" and i believe they thought they had the correct information. Sometimes bad decisions are made out of laziness or stupidity but I really think that this time a bad decision was made based on misinformation. I see a lot of "happy bashing" going on and just wanted to get my 2 cents in. thanks for listening!

I've only used the DCL buses, no other experience.
But I'm 3000 miles away from Floridia and I KNEW where the ships were thanks to this board and the DCL website. Why didn't Happy Limo?

Add me to the list who will not use Happy Limo again. They left us stranded, lied to us, and then when I got home and emailed them about the problems, I got no response. They should have been contacting me to try to make amends -- and they couldn't even reply. Their customer service was not good in our experience.

I will not use them again.
