First off, thank you to everyone on the DISabilities board! My trip went very smooth with all the help received through reading this board.
I recently had foot surgery and am still not able to place any weight on my cast. I couldn't imagine my DH & DS pushing me all over the parks in my wheelchair, so I decided to rent a scooter. I considered renting one at each park, but was scared that when we park hopped, there wouldn't be one at the next. I decided to rent a scooter from Randy's Mobility. They were fantastic! It was nice to have it for the resort and Downtown Disney.
While waiting to enter one of the shows, I starting talking with a woman using one of parks electric scooters. She said it was very hard to drive compaired to mine. It had four wheels and did not corner well. She also added that the controls were confusing. I had a "Passport" which has three wheels and turned on a dime. If was very easy to drive.
The cost was $95 for three days. I think I read that the cost to rent one at the parks is @ $30.
Any questions, please ask.
