Haven’t had a Devil Dog in years, but they remind me of my childhood. They were a frequent snack with lunch at school, along with Ring Dings and Yodels. (I never liked Twinkies.) I believe the Drakes brand is regional to the northeast or maybe east coast.

I don’t care for gummy bears or other candy with that texture.

I'm not a fan of Devil Dogs--I always thought the cake was too dry. Here, Red Angie--you can have mine.

Not a fan of gummies, either, and absolutely LOATHE the Haribo ads on TV. Ironically, we just had a French exchange student leave--one of the things he brought us was...Haribo gummies! My kids have been enjoying them. Meanwhile, he also brought us wine and chocolate, so he's welcome back any time! Good wine and Lindt chocolate, too! I'm still scratching my head over a 14yo waltzing through customs with 3 bottles of wine in his luggage though--I know, I know--France!

Devil Dogs were my favorite as a child. My mom would put either a Devil Dog or a Yankee Doodle pack in my school lunch every day. I couldn't compare them to a twinkie, as I have never tasted one.

I have never had a Devil Dog (Drake's wasn't easy to find in my area growing up) , but I have had the knockoff Suzy Q. I know, blasphemous.



And Haribo all the way for gummy bears.

All I know is that the thread title triggered a nasty flashback. When that song came out, our next-door neighbor's teenaged son took to blasting it on repeat through his open windows at night when his Mom was at work. For weeks, we heard it every night for at least 4 hours straight; it was like some kind of siege.
