We really are living in the early 1930s again.
The Bank of Ben and Hank have now decided it best to spend 250 Billion of the 700 Billion to buy stock in banks. Talk about setting up a false trading environment. We did this before....during the Great Depression.
Let's just call it what is is....."Operation....Buy Time". That's all we're doing here. We're propping up our insolvent banks and hoping/praying that the housing market will not only bottom....but that it will start to rise again making all that toxic paper still in the bank vaults worth *something* (anything?), before the proverbial Pooh hits the fan.
Don't be fooled by the stock market folks....this is major manipulation....plain and simple. Watch the credit markets. If they don't start behaving....down we'll go again.
Once again, we're putting off the inevitable pain. You would think that we learned....apparently we haven't. Pretty scary when *the* plan is to simply "Buy TIME!!"
