On this day in 1902, the first stuffed bear was made by Richard Steiff.

Of course at this time it wasn't called a Teddy Bear (that didn't happen for another month after that)

Awww.....the Teddy Bear was originated in Mississippi....when President Rosevelt came bear hunting. The place that is known as "the home of the teddy bear" is actually just a little town with one store. I believe they are having a festival there this year though.

Oh wow!!! The Teddy is 100 years old I love to collect teddy bears and have tons of them. I even have 5 Steiff animals with two of them being bears
