Welcome to the October 2020 exercise thread! My birthday is this month, so I'll be choosing some Disney birthdays (actually in October, or on the corresponding day in other months) to give us characters, actors, or artists to explore.

If you’re returning, we’re excited to have you back! If you’re new, welcome to the team! Here’s how it works:

Each person chooses a time goal and posts minutes towards that goal as they exercise. You can post daily or just catch up when you can. You decide what movement counts towards your goal - which can be a nice round total for the month, a specific number that means something to you, or a calculation based on a target number of minutes per day.

Since October has 31 days, here are some common conversions:

15 minutes/day = 465
20 minutes/day = 620
30 minutes/day = 930
45 minutes/day = 1395
1 hour/day = 1860

One of the special motivations of our Disney challenge is color changing! Page one will be updated with individual and team color changes as we make more and more progress.

10% - Balloon Blue
25% - Occasion Orange
50% - Party Purple
75% - Princess Pink
90% - Restful Red
100% - Gifts Green

So I’ve actually found this thread on the 1st of the month for once and I managed to take a whole hour for lunch today and went for a nice long walk. I think that’s a sign that I should finally join one of these threads and aim for 1 hour per day. It might sound like an ambitious starting point but pre-COVID I was pretty active. My goal of 1860 will include walking and other non-strenuous activity. Maybe next month I’ll try lower number with higher intensity - if I can get back into the gym.

Looking forward to seeing how we all go 😊.
 
I am in this month for 1860 minutes. I think I will get this without a problem. DD is having foot surgery on the 16th so it may make it a bit harder for a few days. Though we know have a treadmill and this should make it easier. A year ago when she had this done on her other foot, recover was really quick for her. So I am hoping for this again.
 
OH my goodness this is just what I need!
I'm still working from home, and really want to get in a habit of moving frequently while the weather is still good. Thank you!

I'm super impressed by the goals people have already posted, but I'm going to start out more easily... 500 minutes for me, please.
