Yep. When I hear people complaining about turning 30 and I'm going to be 52 in a few days I want to smack them (not you, Cindy, of course). Just take it from us "old" folks that life isn't over at 30, or 40, or 50.

Haha, my freakout over 30 is because I'm not where I thought I would be. My friends pointed out though that I'm a few months away from having my PhD, so what if I'm still single.

Just remember 2 things that have stood me in good stead when I've been single, which is most of my life (fortunately, or unfortunately).
First of all - Think of it this way - No one has been SMART enough, LUCKY enough, or WORTHY enough to have you yet.
Secondly - WANTING somebody in your life is a far cry (and much better!) from NEEDING someone.
If those thoughts don't work - blow the diet for 1 day, and eat an entire bag of potato chips.
And - oh yeah - I really don't think ANY of us are where we thought we'd be at any point in our lives....ya just gotta be comfortable with wherever you are. And - as long as you're facing and gong forwards, it's all good.

That's pretty much exactly the freakout I'm having right now (minus the PhD). From what I've been told, apparently it's okay to not have everything figured out by 30 (I don't believe that, but it's what people try to tell me).
