Big Thunder Mountain was opened at Disneyland on September 2, 1979. Woo hoo! Happy anniversary, Big Thunder Mountain -- one of my favorite rides at DL .

Wow, I had no idea it had been running that long! One of my MOST favorite rides in the park! My 5 year old daughter loved that ride last year (much to our surprise).

Yes indeed! I was at DL three or four years ago when that happened. I saw some great bursts coming over one of the last hills. It was about as magical as it gets .

I'm going to DL Paris in about three weeks. Then DL Anaheim in about six weeks . That'll only leave DL HK -- it was under construction the one and only time I was there.

Our magic moment in July was going on BTMR first thing one morning and the cute french CM Jake(thanks, man!) let us go through again without getting off! Great way to start a day!

Love BTMRR!!!!! I even get Nana's hands up for most of the ride. Really looking forward to riding in December when all 22 of us invade the parks. Nana's giving a DL trip to all her children/spouses, and grandkids for Christmas. Love DL Nanas!!! (She's addicted)

My boys love this ride because, if you ask nicely, they let you wait for a seat in the back car. That is a REALLY wild ride!

Yup! I almost always ask to sit in the back. That's where it seems to be the fastest . And wildest ;-).
