I looked him up on Wikipedia, he is into 'happiness economics' and is pushing this in the House of Lords, which gave him this title by the newspapers.

I think that this article is just hitting an easy target, being Disney, during a time when people are starting to question the consumerist nature in a time of a economic slow down, especially as the UK is apparently one of the worst hit countries (then again we are biased!)

The Brits must be angry that their tax dollars are going to nothing but royalty and happiness Tsars. I mean, I'm much more sympathetic to royalty after watching "The Queen," but the happiness tsar is a little much. Is this just a Catholic thing, or a British thing. I really hope it's a Catholic thing for the sake of the Brit's reputation. I mean, I wouldn't be happy that the Catholics are going down the Joel Osteen route, but still.

I wouldn't worry about our tax dollars, but our taxed pounds are annoying us yes! (Although i can't talk i am a student, eating away at the pot of tax money!) I have no qualms with Royalty, they do a hard job, and they make us special!

By the way the 'Happiness Tsar' is just a name given by the media, he gets paid for being a Lord in the House of Lords (like your Congress, but a wee bit different). He is an economic politician who focuses on how peoples happiness impacts the economic state of the country and vice versa.

This is a Catholic thing, no one has been influenced against Disney because some priest (in a majority Agnostic/Atheist country, although some evidence to just sway it on the Protestant side) who happens to be on TV a while ago decides to play the blame game.

Most of us Brits are fairly sane people, then again i am not representative, i have a Disney Obsession!

I wasn't offended, however i am annoyed at the exchange rate at the moment! Disney is not going to be cheap this year

Aww, sad. The Happiness Tsar should take care of that.

By the way, are you talking about DP or the World? I thought the dollar was still weak. I've been avoiding the news like the plague because of all the doom and gloom. However, I guess with the bad economy, the pound should be going down as well.

WDW, the pound has gone massively down. The Dollar = 0.681338148 British pound. Last year it was 2 dollars to the pound. It's not good!
