In August of 1983, I started teaching a gifted art class. The students had to compete for the available slots. The was one 9th grader who was borderline. I already had enough who had qualified for the class, but several teachers had commented on him being a good kid, so I added him to the class.
Fast forward to February, the boy had been telling me since December that I needed to meet his cousin (much older cousin!

- DH was 27 at the time, I was 24). I was not interested, but after a basketball game one night, he managed to get us introduced.
This summer we'll be married 23 years, and he's the most wonderful man in the world. DD said that one of the things she loves about her BF is that he reminds her so much of her dad (dependable, responsible, considerate, kind, loving, etc., etc., etc.).
I'm very fortunate and love him very much. He likes to tease and tell me that maybe
someday I'll love him at least half as much as he loves me now.
(I'm sure glad I added that boy to my class!)
