Last month after our extravagant wedding at the Grand Floridian I was quite disappointed to find that our suite was not decorated when we returned from our reception. All the ladies had gotten ready together that day so I was expecting that after we all left the room that the towels would be changed, the countertops wiped, and the bed made. Nothing. It hardly felt like happily ever after. Has this happened to anyone else?

I am confused? Do you mean you are upset your family did not decorate or the Grand Floridian? It is not customary that the cast members decorate your room. It might happen and for some it is a wonderful surprise, but it is not guaranteed.

Sorry you were disappointed. Hope the wedding was all you dreamed of.

During our planning session six months prior we asked if this was something that we should be concerned with and we were told that disney would take care of everything. Our wedding planner now says that it was the responsibility of the concierge. We were treated better during previous trips when we stayed in a "regular" room.

I am sorry to hear that. I just didnt think that Disney would decorate your room or anything for your weddings. So sorry that happened. I mean I understadn the bed not being made that should have been done absolutely.

When we stayed at the Poly, no one decorated for us. It is never a guaranteed thing. I think that what people have done in the past is give their key to their friends if they wanted it decorated.

I was also under the impression that it was something that needed to be arranged either with the concierge or by giving family members your room key.

Sorry you were disappointed, but I hope you didn't let that ruin your wedding and honeymoon! We had an Intimate and stayed at WL. No one said anything about our room getting decorated and we didn't have any expectation of it. I did call housekeeping the night before the wedding to ask them to come and clean the room (make the bed, fresh towels, etc.) between 3:00 - 5:00 because I knew we'd be gone at that time, and they did that, which was nice because we left it a real mess!
The night before the wedding my MOH was staying in the room with me and they delivered balloons, chocolates, and a card signed by Mickey and Minnie saying "congratulations" and that was a nice surprise but would have been better the next night :rotfl:

JandJ--that was really smart. I was a tad wee bit disappointed because the Beach Club didn't do anything with our room. I knew that it was a hit or miss "magical" thing if they did something for you--but it seems like some people get so much magic and others don't...you wonder how it gets decided. In fact, you could say that Disney magic did something...we had a frog jumping around in our room the first night we were there. We called down to the front desk and they said they'd be up in an hour or so. DH caught the frog in our ice bucket after about 20 minutes and we took it down to the front desk. They said, OH, thanks. Took the frog and didn't even give us a new ice bucket. But I also have historically not had the most accommodating service at the Beach Club. On the other hand, when I checked into the Boardwalk before the wedding--they were phenomenal and I had a "bride" towel creature in my bathroom--that was very cool--I cried tears of joy:)
