I have heard that you can sit at the tables outside of the ice cream shop on Main St to watch the fireworks.

Has anyone done this? If so, how early do you need to grab a table/seat before the show?

I can’t really answer the time answer but I will say very few of this seats will have a view as there are umbrellas above the tables which will block the view from many on the seats.

I would guess for the few seats with a view, those would be claimed 90-120 mins before the show.

From what I am seeing, there is no other place to sit, unless you pay for the Desert Party. Is there a recommended spot to grab for this show? I know there used to be listings/images people would upload showing the best spots, but I am not able to find them now.

You're not going to get a great view from those seats.
And I would not bother wasting 2 hours of park time just to sit during the fireworks.
The show is easily visible from a wide area that you can just walk up 5 minutes before show time and stand to watch the show.
Heck you could sit and relax somewhere right up until a few minutes before show time if you're concerned about not being able to stand for a long period of time waiting.

I've seen people hoarding those seats, sometimes up to 2 hours before the fireworks. I don't think the view is actually that great and I have never understood why people do it. Unless you're just tired and you care more about resting and snacking and less about the view. Then it makes sense I guess.

If you don’t need to see the projections you can watch from behind the castle and sit along the planters at Village Haus. You end up with a surrounded view as fireworks are in front and behind you so kinda cool.

I've never had that kind of experience, the plaza in front of castle starts filling up pretty early. Combine that with the marked off areas that you cannot be outside of (constant CM enforcement).

Did this last March and it was awesome! Felt like you were immersed in the fireworks. We's seen the projections before so was fine missing them this time.

Yes, if you just want to see fireworks and not the projections there are a lot of places around the park with a nice view and fewer crowds.

There is a grassy area in front of Casey's, it is in a gated area. Sometimes part of it is roped off, but most of the area is wide open. This is where I always watch fireworks from. You can sit until they start, and it never seems to be crowded. Since it's a gated area, I think most people assume it's off limits. It's also a great place to watch the parade.
