I have never watched the MK fireworks from anywhere other than the front of the castle. I thought about trying from fantasyland. This sounds like it is going to be a dumb question, but can you see the projections from behind the castle in fantasyland? Thanks in advance.

Wishes was fine from back there, was one of our favorite spots to be surrounded by the fireworks but now .....
...... the new show means everyone trying to get to hub because the projections are a major part of the show.

You will see the spot light type beams that go up in the air but not projections.

It is surely a game changer for crowds and planning.

It's a great fireworks show though so if you don't want the projections, I like the spot.. If you plan to try to watch it more than once but don't have the time, do behind the castle first as you'll feel like your missing something after seeing it with projections.

I think I'm the only one to record a video of it from back there... It's a 360 video so you'll need to scroll it around to see everything as they fire from both buildings and behind the park.

Take out the idea of projections for a minute.

Wishes was a fireworks show with Disney movie music. HEA is a fireworks show with Disney movie music and even more fireworks and new launch sites from the castle. If you do not care for the projections, it's still a great fireworks show. The only part that coordinates between the projections and sounds that you would wonder what is happening on the castle would be the villains part. Watching from Fantasyland shouldn't be much different than Wishes if you want just a fireworks show.

I wouldn't. We just saw it and it was amazing! You will want to be centered on the front of the castle. We were in the garden area. Got a spot by the railing at the back around 7:45 for a 9 pm show. We didn't plan to get there that early, but finished everything we wanted to do so figured we would stake out a spot and get snacks. It didn't really fill in until 8:30 or so. I highly recommend this area. I had heard no one stands in this spot and you can still see. This was not the case the night we were there. Everyone stood up from their seated spots at show time and we had a great view. It is the same view but opposite side as the garden view dessert party.

Oh I agree if you just want to see some fireworks, but to compare HEA to Wishes - the projection portion is a game changer for entertainment. I probably had not watched Wishes from the front of the castle in at least 5 years or more until I viewed a final in April, but having seen HEA I will now make an effort to be in front to enjoy the entire show because as a whole it's that good.

We just saw it last night and it was SO beautiful!! The projections on the front of the castle are amazing. I personally wouldn't miss it unless you are lucky enough to be there multiple times and want a different angle. (And away from the crowds.) The crowding in front of the castle was pretty intense.

I have watched from Poly and from in front of the castle, not from Fantasyland yet. My strong opinion is - just like Wishes - there is a place for ALL types of viewing locations. They are all going to have their pros/cons, but like a PP said it's still a great fireworks show at the end of the day. Yes, you should definitely try to see it from the "front" because that is now a more dramatic viewing area. But as time goes on, you've seen the show before, etc, these "no projection view" spots like Poly, like CR, like Fantasyland, are going to be just as valid, in my humble opinion. We'd migrate our viewing around to different spots for Wishes, I don't see that changing for us with HEA. Frankly I can't wait to watch it from Fantasyland - it's always been so loud and right on top of you from back there.

Gotcha. I was thinking you were saying that watching from Fantasyland was not worth it anymore. In front of the castle is the preferred location but watching from other areas I would think works the same as before.

Yup we'll be right there with you some nights .... because we go a lot. And if you have a trip with multiple MK nights, for sure try different spots. But if you have that one night and won't be back for awhile .............. watch in front, it is a goosebump show!

No, once you've seen it a few times or if you have more than one night - sure move about. But this is one show that being front is getting a full show. Wishes front was only about placing the fireworks around the silhouette of the castle.
