Happiest Haunts Tour??

Thats so weird, we must have updated at just the same time!! Shame we wont coincide though - im booked in for the 17th!!

Ha! Just saw that, weird. We ended up taking the 18th because our flight lands on the 17th at 2:30pm (thought it was earlier) and that's starting to cut it a bit close in case of any delays. Hope you enjoy the tour and your trip!

I suspect the tour will be exactly as it has been in previous years. The general info CM's generally have no knowledge of what's happening this far in advance. They are usually the last to get the details on seasonal highlights. I would think that if they were going to do anything different with the tour it would be next year, when DCA is all shiny and new, and the expected mobs of people descend upon DLR.

But for someone who has not done the Happiest Haunts tour before, it will probably already seem like they are going all out and that will be more than enough entertainment!

You can bet that if anything new is added to the tour, the Disney Parks Blog will post about it. They seem to like to alert people way in advance when there is anything new added to Halloween Time or Christmas Time, so that people have time to plan to attend. If we don't see anything pop up on the Parks Blog about the tour before September 16th, we will know the tour is exactly the same.


Just wanted to clarify what Dink37 said earlier, too, so that no one misunderstands. There's been confusion recently about the difference between the dates of "Halloween Time" as opposed to the Halloween "party," and I don't want anyone to get confused about the tour as well.

The Halloween Time season lasts from September 16 - October 31. Unless the Happiest Haunts tour takes place daily during the entire season - and it very well could, if Disney decides to do that this year, if they feel they will have enough visitors to warrant it - then the tour will probably just run on weekends in September (the 17th and 18th are both weekend days) and then move to the daily schedule in October.

So far, I don't think the CM's at DLR have said whether the tour will run only on weekends or daily in September - or have they said it since Dink37 posted that info 2 days ago? I just didn't want people thinking that they'd be able to catch a tour on, for example, September 21st or something if there are no tours happening that day.

We just called and had to talk to three different CMs before we found one who knew what was being offered.

We'll be at the PP for three days, including our arrival day. We were planning on a two day park hopper for the next two days and are trying to figure the best way to get the most and best park experiences with that combined with the tour and/or party tickets.

So for the days we'll be there our options are:

1. Do the parks the day we arrive, which will be late morning on Oct 2 (Sunday) and Tuesday (Oct 4) using our two day tickets. Buy the Halloween Party ticket for Oct 3 and enter at 3p and then spend the night. Buy the Tour for Oct 4 and take 3 hours out of our second day in the parks.

2. Same for Sunday and Tuesday, but on Oct 3, get the Ultimate Tour ticket, which combines the party with the tour ticket ($108). This way we get to the park at 3p that day, go on the tour at 4p and when it's over, stay for the party.

We're leaning toward #2. Any thoughts?

BTW, when we called today, the CM who knew what was what said we'd have to wait until the 30 day window for the Tour ticket, but the Ultimate ticket could be bought right now w/o waiting, no matter what day we were looking to do it. Just in case anyone out there is thinking of the Ultimate, there's no need to wait, at least according to the CM we got.

Anyone interested in booking the Happiest Haunts tour for Oct. 21 might want to do it sooner rather than later. I just booked the Ultimate Experience for Oct. 21 and the CM said there were only 2 times left to choose from, 5:00and 5:10.

I dont suppose anyone is going to know but....any idea if the tour will include all the same rides as previous years? I read a couple of reviews which say Haunted Manion, TOT, Space Mountain, Snow White & 1 more (forget which).
Any whispers as to what it will include this year?!

Happiest Haunts Tour

This seasonal Halloween-themed 3-hour walking tour covers both parks, with rides on Haunted Mansion Holiday, Space Mountain Ghost Galaxy, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Snow White's Scary Adventures and the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror. You'll also receive a souvenir keepsake and Halloween treat. Available for all ages, but guests must meet height requirements to experience the included attractions.

In 2010 the tour was offered starting September 17 and running through Halloween. (Tour will only be offered on weekends in September; probably every night in October.) Two tours depart each afternoon, at 5:00 and 5:05 pm.

2010 regular price was $64 per person.

Also available was a $99 "Ultimate Experience" ticket that combines the Happiest Haunts Tour and admission to Mickey's Trick-or-Treat Party on select evenings (October 1, 5, 8, 15, 19, 22, 26, 29, 31). With this special ticket, at the end of the tour, guests could stay for the party at Disneyland.

They won't change the rides, more than likely. It's just like the holiday tour that takes place every year - they have a set routine they follow within an allotted time, and getting front of the line privileges on the specific rides that somehow fit the theme of the tour is part of the tour package. I'm not sure if Snow White and Big Thunder were always part of the tour, but I can see where they were trying to throw in as many 'scary' things as possible.

I really think the tour will be exactly the same as it has been described every year, and it will include those things in the description above.

I just booked our tickets for Friday, Sept 16th!
The rep said they "guaranteed" 6 attractions but did not say which ones other than Haunted Mansion, Tower of Terror and Space Mtn. The rest--who knows!

This will be the first time we've done a Halloween tour, so really looking forward to it. We did the Christmas tour last December and that was really great.
