Hanukkah is.....

I'm so glad I'm not the only one. Just look at the comments here. All anyone can associate Chanukah with is that song. And Rod Carew was NOT Jewish. He never converted. He just married a Jew.

I've never really liked Adam Sandler. So his song does absolutely nothing for me.

To bring Disney into this, my kids' school did a Chanukah play - Mary Poppins! It was performed for the school today, and families are invited Saturday night.

(I happened to have taken advantage of the Disney on Broadway promotion "Kids go Free", so I'll be taking my daughter in February.)

That song is really cute! I could just see the small children singing it.

I don't associate Adam's song with Hanukkah....as a matter of fact, I rarely even think about it. Andy by the way...who the heck is Rod Carew and how did he get into the conversation??

Rod Carew is a former all-star baseball player who is both rumored to have converted to Judaism and has a prominent place in the Sandler song.

Don't get me wrong. I believe the song is great. It's just that this song has been done to death and has become the defacto "holiday song" for the Jews. It's just annoying and wrong in my book. The sequel versions of the song - awful.

Wish I had that problem. No kosher donut shops where we live and I still haven't learned how to make them.
