Okay, yet another Miley Cyrus/Hannah Montana item ---- My daughter saw this on tv and would love to have it. Problem? It's $199 even on Amazon. It comes with 2 games.

Okay, she wanted a PSP about 2 years ago. I never bought her one because she had a Gameboy and a Leapster at the time. Last year, she completely forgot about a PSP and wanted a DS Lite (which she got). Now, they're advertising this "Hannah Montana Limited Edition......"

Does anyone even use PSPs anymore????? I never see any kids with them at all.

This **may** be her "big" Christmas gift (even though I'm leaning toward a "no" on this one) and I want to know if anyone else knows about the PSPs, how much the games are, can you play with other PSP users (like with the DS Lite) and if they're even "popular" anymore.

Thanks!

My dd saw the comercial for that and said "ooooo I would love that" and then I had to remind her that she recently got a new DSi so she would not be getting a PSP. And she said- " I know, its just so pretty but none of my friends have PSP's everyone has DSes anyway".
I have no idea if that helps you or not but you may want to ask around with some parents of your dd's friends to see what they have.

Depends on her age too. Hannah Montana was being marketed to the really younger girls which make her uncool with the tween set. If she didn't like HM next year she might be embarassed with a PSP with her on it. IMHO one game system is enough, so buy her a HM game for the DSi.

I actually got my daughter that for christmas all ready. If anything, it was great because she can watch movies on it while we are traveling and we have lots of traveling coming up. Plus, it's pink/purple and it's just cute. She loves games as well.

DS got a used PSP this last C-mas, I'm pleased with it ~ he enjoys it, I do like that he can watch videos ~ I like very much that even though the games/videos are discs they are in a permanent case so little chance of damage possible.

We have a PSP but I've found the games are geared towards teenage boys, whereas Nintendo is towards a younger set.

That definitely helps.... all her friends (including her 2 BFFs) have the DS/DSi.

I think she just likes it because it's pink/purple and new.

Maybe let her try to win it here...

LOL! She already entered! :)

Agree!! I think they're marketing Miley to the tweens/young teens (11-14) and Hannah to the younger kids (6-10).

I also agree that one game system is enough (esp at the prices!). She's going to have to make her DS Lite last at least another year or two. As it is, she only got the DS Lite for her b'day last year. It should last her a bit longer (and hopefully by that time, she won't be into handheld video games anymore!)
