Last time I checked...we weren't able to hang anything on the walls....Disney was pretty strict about this. But I was watching some videos on youtube....and some girls in Patterson Court hung pictures, calenders, ect on the walls. Did the rules change? I was a little bummed about not being able to hang anything up or really decorate (not over the top...but just at least make the place your own..ya know?).

That's odd. When I was at Chatham last spring, we were allowed to hang things on the wall. We were only allowed to use thumbtacks and such though, no tape or stuff that would leave residue on the wall.

Yeah, I've always been able to hang stuff on the wall (with thumbtacks). I hung up my calendar, the bus schedules, ect).

Though they say during that first housing meeting not to hang anything (except like, cork boards, with NAILS, which is nuts), I definitely had a ton of posters and other stuff up with pushpins and never got a single comment about it during inspections. It might prevent you from getting like "above and beyond," but I'd rather have my posters up.

so for the inspections, they actually rank you?

what is that like?

and how often are inspections?

Yes. For inspections they make sure the apartments are clean, and there isn't stuff there that isn't supposed to be. It is possible to fail an inspection, and if that happens, there is a chance money could be deducted from everyone's paycheck to cover things. On the flip side, if you do well enough in the inspection, they might leave candy and stuff (I've had that happen before).

Inspections are pretty spaced out, about every 6-7 weeks or so (but there also could be random inspections).

Yea you get ranked like Joanne said. It's like this sort of:
-Unsatisfactory (aka you fail inspection....THIS IS BAD DO NOT HAVE IT HAPPEN.)
-Satisfactory (your apartment is fine, but not 100%)
-Above Average (100%)

We'd always get satisfactory...BECAUSE OF MILDEW IN THE SHOWER :scared1:.
I always sprayed the shower down and the mildew did not go away. When we got there the mildew was worse, my mom cleaned our bathroom when we moved in LOL. My other roomies didn't have the bathroom problem but our bathroom did for some reason. We still got Rice Krispie treats though :).

If you fail inspection and don't improve you get fined.

Joanne covered it all pretty much but like I said, watch for mildew, it's there and they check for it.

oh..ok. I thought you couldn't hang anything at all. I thought they were picky about what was hung...b/c it left holes in the walls. I must have misunderstood.

So do thumbtacks and and push pins actually push easily into the wall? I feel like its impossible to get those into a wall. I have always liked putting up tons of pictures and covering like the entire wall, would I be able to use like that sticky tack stuff?

The tacks always worked for me. The tacky gummy stuff is not allowed, unfortunately.

What about those removable wall hooks that leave no residue. You know, the ones that they advertise for hanging stockings up and things like that? (not that I will be hanging up stockings lol) Just thought that I would be able to use those seeing how they cause no damage. However, I don't want to have to defend my choice either or worry that they won't accept them :confused3

So what would be the best way to hang a few picture? And by a few I mean like 100. I feel like all those tacks would just be annoying and be more trouble than their worth.

I saw a Vlog where a girl used a thick ribbon that was thumbtacked up on both sides and used paperclips or other small clips to attach the pictures with. It looked really cute and easy. I think I'm going to use one of those french bulletin boards too.

I just went out and bought ribbon and clips today to do that with. ;) I love her vlogs! She has definitely gotten me excited about the program and answered a lot of my questions too. :thumbsup2
