OK, I have a few last minute questions before my trip:

1) About how many hangers are in the Beach Club closets?

2) Are batteries more expensive in Disney, is that why you all pack your own before hand for the misting fans?

3) How much money do you leave as a tip for mousekeeping each day?

4) My kids will be bringing autograph books this year, and I read that pens are too thin for the characters to grasp. Do most people bring sharpies...the big thick ones? Isn't that kind of risky that it could stain one of the character's costumes??

Thanks everyone!

OK, I have a few last minute questions before my trip:

1) About how many hangers are in the Beach Club closets? Can't give you an exact #, but it doesn't matter. Just call housekeeping and ask for more. It's no problem

3) How much money do you leave as a tip for mousekeeping each day?$5

4) My kids will be bringing autograph books this year, and I read that pens are too thin for the characters to grasp. Do most people bring sharpies...the big thick ones? Isn't that kind of risky that it could stain one of the character's costumes??They prefer the big fat ones because they are much easier for the costumed characters (not face characters) to see and hold. Plus they will write easily on a variety of surfaces.

Thanks everyone!

Hope this helps

I bought a 4-pack of AAA batteries at the Beach Club gift shop in March 2011. Cost: $11.90.

I don't know what size battery goes in a misting fan. I needed them for something else. I just thought this would give you an idea of price.

I have read here that Princesses do not like to use green sharpies when signing autographs because they stain the worst if dropped on a costume.

Lots of people use sharpies. I worked in costuming for 2 college programs & even though sharpies, don't worry about it staining the character's costumes. I do suggest using blue or black if you use a sharpie. Try to avoid green & red.

We used the retractable sharpies in black when we went last time. I was told they are easier to hold too. No worrying about losing the caps with these.

You can call Mousekeeping when you arrive, and they'll bring you as many extra hangers as you need. They even ask if you want "regular" hangers or the kind with clips (for pants and skirts). They were very helpful!

Regarding batteries, pretty much everything is more expensive at WDW than in the "outside" world. So it's best to bring things from home like batteries, sunscreen, etc. I even pack an extra pair of sunglasses (mine broke one trip, and the least expensive pair I could buy at WDW cost around $30!).

Oh, and bring a needle and thread or a small sewing kit. My strap on my swimsuit needed repair last trip, and I had to buy one in the hotel gift shop. It cost around $8 or $9 for what was essentially just a needle and thread! Yikes.

One last thing - bring any OTC medications you think you might need from home (tylenol, cold meds, pepto bismol, etc.). Those are very expensive to purchase at WDW.
