Handmade Candy Canes

I looked at that article but it was dated December of 2008. :sad2:

Dude that sucks. Someone linked us to it recently so I just assumed it was correct.

Does this mean...I won't be in town for fresh hand-made candy canes??!!

Noooooooooooooooooooo! Hehe. Just a little dramatic here.

I watched that show on the food at DL - it said that candy canes are made in December 3 days a week twice a day and 45 are made. So I guess that is the reason for lines.

I'm not real keen on eating candy canes but I would like to see them being made. I saw the Diners Drive ins and Dives show and it was fascinating!

Was at California Adventure tonight and in the candy shop (near the entrance - don't know the name of it) they had about 6 of these huge candy canes that were 9.95 each so I assume they are what you are referring to here. I thought about getting one but it looked like too much to try to get home in one piece with just a carry on (I'm working in the area and just came up for the evening - then back to work tomorrow).

I was there this weekend and they had them at all of the candy stores....Pooh Cornder candy store had a ton of them!

Those are not the same ones that are made IN the candy kitchen. They are machine made...and not "fresh" like the ones they hand out tickets for.

Just thought you should know. They are basically the same type of "giant" candy canes you can purchase at most drugstores and supermarkets.

But the label does say "Hand Crafted Candy Cane" and they are the same price ($9.95) and the "fresh" ones.

I'm muching on one now. :lmao:

So what time do they start making the candy canes? I called the Candy Kitchen hotline and heard that they will be making them this Saturday. I'll be heading to the park on Saturday morning and probably won't make it in time for park opening...Hopefully I still have a shot at getting one of these famous canes.
