I know this appears on the DL website, but I thought some people would appreciate seeing the official flier. I grabbed a pic of it at the park yesterday. Disappointed that they won't be rolling any on Sundays (that's my usual day), but I believe this falls under the heading of "First World problems" ;-).

Part of my planning for next year. I wonder how they pack for the trip home?

"Wristband entitles bearer to purchase ONE (1) candy cane at designated location"

You can only buy one?

It used to be up to 2 wristbands, 1 candy cane per wristband. Not sure if only 1 is new this year or if they did it that way last year.

With the LIMITED quantity, I won't have to worry about packing for travel home.
I'm sure if we get a few they'll be devoured before we get to the airport to come home.

Last year it was one candy cane per wristband but you could get a total of two wristbands per person. Does that make sense, lol?

Yes last year 2 wristbands per person- now the kiddos are gonna have to wait in line with me to get our 2- kinda bummed they lowered the limit

It's not impossible to get a wristband, but you do have to kind of think of it like getting to ride Peter Pan. If you really want a candy cane, I would make a point to get the ticket gates before park opening and then head straight to the wristband distribution location as soon as you enter the park.

Exactly. Last year people ran to get in line at Candy Palace the moment the gates opened. I don't eat sugar myself so I had zero interest. However, I spoke with someone later who was eating one and he said it was fantastic and still warm.

We only have one shot during our stay to pick one up. Does extra magic hour effect the line. Do we have a chance if we don't have the extra magic hour entry?

How early to you plan to be at the gates in order to be early for the line. Any tips for a better shot at getting there? Use the gate to the left? Right? Where is the line?

Just head to the Candy Palace in DL or Trolley Treats in DCA upon entering the park. There will be a cast member or two either handing out wristbands or letting people know when they will begin the process. They make three batches of candy canes each day, with about 150 canes in each batch. There will be three different color wristbands, which indicate what time you can swig over to the candy shop to pick up and pay for the candy cane. At the end of the day, any candy canes not paid for and collected will be made available for sale...but this is a very rare occurrence. I'd say that you should have an excellent chance of scoring candy canes if you are headed to DCA first thing, EMH or not, particularly if you are there on a weekday. Be prepared to stand in a long line at Candy Palace in DCA, though. Wife and I had no problems and no lines at DCA the past few years - just walked up the street to Trolley Treats and cast members were trying to give the wristbands away to passing guests. I think the allure of the canes are more special at DL and less so at DCA because the same master candy maker at Candy Palace has been making them there for something like 20+ years, and DCA only started making them a few years ago. 5 years ago the candy cane rush at DL was a madhouse each day, with wristbands for the 450 canes being "sold out" in a mater of minutes each day. When they started doing them at DCA it sort of lightened the load so to speak at DL. Hope this helps. Good Luck!

So I am here at Disneyland. Came in at 8am and got in line for the candy canes wristbands. Limit is one wristband per person. My return time was at 9:30. I got my candy cane at 9:45 then got back in line and got another wristband.

Once you get a candy cane you can get another wristband if they have them. My return time is noon. She had one left. We have until 2 today to pick up reserved candy canes.

I also recorded live the candy making process. Well, first, candy making master Ron came out and talked to us. He let me record him, then I recorded the candy making process once it was hot enough to pour.

It was very interesting. Disneyland has been doing it for 48 years, and Ron has been doing it for 43.

The videos are on FB, and here are a few pics.

We got ours today too! Got in the line at 7:45, had the wristbands by 8am andtook the momento photo they had going on. Our return time was 9am and when we went back to pick them up at about 10:30, the guy handed out the last two wristbands of the day. Having a big family paid off - we have 6 of them!

I am hoping to get one Dec 5 or 6 - all this info gives me hope that we'll definitely be able to get one. We'll arrive for rope drop early anyways so fingers crossed!

I'm hoping to get 1 or 2 during our trip next week. With any luck the wristbands will last for a while. Do they hand them out during MM?

We stopped by Trolley Treats early this evening and were able to buy candy canes, one each. These were the ones that had not been picked up earlier in the day. There were only a few left. They were bubble wrapped and have survived the trip home safely so far. So if you miss out on a wristband, try checking later in the day.

Last year they did. However, I looked at the schedule and it looks like this year it's in the park with no MM so just regular opening now to make it fair for all I would guess
