I'm sorry if this has been asked, I tried a search, but found nothing.

I was wondering if you know of any resorts that have handicapped rooms (with a roll in shower) that have two double or queen beds?? I am trying to plan a trip for four (my brother and his fiance, and my DH and I) and my brother is in a wheel chair (has CP and can't get into a regular tub, he has a roll in shower at home). In the past we have been a bigger group and gotten two rooms or have just gotten a regular room and asked for a shower chair and had my DH carry my brother into the tub/shower.

THANKS for your help!!

Because of the size of the rooms, none of the Value Resorts have regular rooms with 2 beds and a roll in shower. There should be some Family Suites set up with a roll in shower and able to sleep more than 2 people, so you may want to look into those.
In the disABILITIES FAQs thread near the top of this board, one of the posts is about resorts. In that post, you will find a phone number for Special Services/Special Reservations. The CMs there will be able to answer your questions.

We had a room booked at one of the Family suites with a roll in shower, but we got a discount code, so we upgraded, but I do know they have them. Also, I have been told that some of the rooms at the moderates have 2 full beds and a roll in shower. The CM you book with should be able to call to Special Reservations at the time you make your ressie and go ahead and block a room for his needs.

We just booked at CBR for a room with roll-in shower. We were assured that it had two beds. Have fun.

The deluxe resorts and all the DVC villas have studios with two beds or a bed and pull out sofa vs. a king.---Kathy

OKW handicap studios have a roll-in shower and 2 queen beds.

It is good to hear they changed their policy. Back in 2006 we went, I had reserved a room for 4 (2 Adults, 2 Juniors), one of the Juniors is my brother who is in a wheel chair - we showed up and they tried to put all four of us in a room with one king bed. The ended up putting us in a regular room - we had to get a shower chair and my DH had to carry him into and out of the tub, it was quite embarrassing for him.
