Sorry if this info. is posted somewhere else. I swear I read something about it, but cannot remember. Anyhow...

My dilemna is the 5 pm CP on Sun. Dec. 1st (Roy Disney's last night). There would be 4 of us - me, DH, DM, and DF (in an ECV). There are no packages that evening, only stand by. I have no problem waiting in line (for 60 to 90 mins. or so), but there's no way DH & DF will.

?1. Can 1 or 2 people wait in line and get (save) enough places for 4?

?2. Can 4 people sit together in the handicapped section?

?3. Has anyone ever seen a separate line for "handicapped" at CP? A CM that I spoke to today said there may be.

?4. Could I (without a disability) wait in the handicapped line (if it does exist) to get us places in the handicapped section?

Anyone who has attended CP with a wheelchair, I greatly appreciate your input. Thanks!

I have never seen a separate handicapped line. All would stand in the same line although they may come and pull handicapped guests out of line to seat them earlier as there is limited seating. If there is not enough room for all together then the others could sit in the row in front of the handicapped guest. We have done that when it was me and my kids.

We haven't been to CP, but I'm bumping this up for more replies.
I think it might be similar to handicapped areas for Illuminations (ie, if you want to be in the handicapped area, the person with an ecv or scooter needs to stay with you). In general, they say that a "wheelchair party" can be up to 6 people (5 plus the person with a disability). When it's been really busy for Illuminations in the hanicapped area, we have been told that only one person can be in the area with DD since there was limited space. I don't know if CP would run the same way, but wouldn't be surprised.
Anyone with experience besides Lisa?

Geez, girls... thanks for such quick responses! I look forward to hearing about any other experiences. Thanks!

At the standby CP line, everyone waits in the same line. As Lisa said, "sometimes" they'll pull guests in wheelchairs into the theatre early since there's limited seating. If you're standing in line holding a place for a family member in a chair, the CM won't know this and won't allow you into the handicapped seating area without this person. Good luck! ---Kathy

Bumping this one up.

I have asked this same ? to CM, about the blind and visually impaired, Disney seems to have no answer for me. I have been awaiting a return call back from them on CP and the hoop-dee-doo.......

Who are you contacting for this information? Is it someone from the people who work with Guests with Disabilities? If not I will get you a contact with them. I had the great pleasure of being at the same conference with Mark Jones, the sign language coordinator this weekend and I am sure he could tell me who you need to contact.
