We are planning a trip for next June! We will be taking my in laws ans my father in law requires a handicapped shower with bars to hold onto. I also do not want to lose the jacuzzi tub. Can someone tell me how the 2 bedroom handicaped rooms confugure at SSr. Also how do I make sure we get one. He has to have one. Thanks

You will not lose the jacuzzi tub. The stall shower in the master suite will be modified to a roll-in shower and the bathtub in the second bedroom will be replaced by roll in or handicap shower, but you will still have the jacuzzi tub. Since this is a "have to" situation, I would make sure to let Member Services know it is required, and ask to verify with "special needs/services" that a handicap room will be blocked/guaranteed for you.

thank you I will do that when I call on the 30th! Does member service transfer me to special needs or do I have to call another #? Thanks

I am pretty sure they will transfer you.

but don't worth - handicapped rooms are the first filled by the room controller.

just make sure when you get your reservation confirmation that it says handicapped room - if not call again.

you will probably be on the first floor at both OKW and SSR. I would ask for a first floor - because there is one elevators per building at SSR and the walk to it can be long. OKW only has elevators in 62, 63, 64.

When we have reserved accesssible rooms, MS has put me on hold while they call special services. We have never talked with Special Services directly for DVC accomodations.

thank you guys for all the help. I will make note so when I call I can request everything needed.
