In Tower Club (12th Floor) in the Contemporary they built an accessible room on the Park-view side right next to the Elevator Lobby about three years ago. As far as I know that is the only handicapped accessible room with a rollin shower in the tower and it is often booked up to a year in advance.

If Dfather does not need a rollin shower sometimes Disney has other rooms where a raised toilet seat and hand rails are available.

Good luck!

Here is a thread titled WDW Accessible Room Location Thread - UPDATE

--------------------------------------------

Disney started mainstreaming most of their lines in the late 1990s. Those in WC/ECV will usually enter in the regular line. He will be able to stay in EVC until just before boarding most of the time.
Sometimes the WC/EVC (and up to 5 members of the party) may be pulled from the mainstream line part way down so they can board the ride in an
Accessible area. EVC's can't climb steps so sometimes they need to take an elevator. Or they may need to board a ride where the riders usually exit in case
they need an accessible vehicle or need the moving sidewalk slowed or stopped so they can board. *Note they are going to the head of the line. They are just going to another line where the ride will be accessible.

You can pickup a book for Guests with disabilities at Guest Services or you download a copy of the book which is posted on the disABILITIES board.

Thank You

You are welcome.
I think that room is the only CL HA room but
don't give up Disney may have added standard HA rooms during their refurbishment. Please call and find out.

If you find out they have please add the CR room number to the list.

We need to let Disney know more choices in HA rooms are needed.

FYI

The only HA rooms with rollin showers at the Poly arein the Rapa Nui
Bulding with a Garden view. That building is near the HA parking lot and TTC but quite a distance from the main building.

We were told that a couple of HA would be added to the Hawaii building when that building was refurbed but it did not happen. :sad1:

Hi! If the only accomodation he needs is the ECV, then any standard room will be ok. Rooms at the CR are some of the largest on property and there is plenty of room for an ECV.
If he needs a raised toilet seat and/or grab bars, it's my understanding that you can request these and they can be placed in a standard room as well. Bedboards are also available in standard rooms.
