So my wife, 3 year old daughter, mother in law and I are coming down to DW on March 7th for 5 days. This is only my second time here, last time was October for 2 days and before that 1981. My mother in law is disabled and uses a lil rascal like scooter to get around. How is the transportation for this type of device. We are staying at the POFQ and I know they have a riverboat that takes you to Downtown, and more importantly for us, the Riverside. First of all, how long is the walk from FQ to Riverside if we chose to walk, and if not, is the riverboat fairly easily handicap accesible. I know some of the buses have almost a ground flush rear entrance for wheelchairs and the such and I know the monorail is also fine. I just wasnt sure about the water ways. Thanks for all the anticipated help.

You might try posting this on the disablities board. They probably have lots of foks with real time experience. Sorry I can't help!

no problem, thanks, I'm new to the site and didnt even know there was a disability board. I will check it out.

The boats are very accessably and the walk is 10 to 15 minutes if you take your time.

I will move this to our fabulous disABILITIES! board. :)

Thanks for the move, sorry about that, I'm new to the board and still working my way through. Also thanks for the info about the boats. My mother in law is real nervous that the scooter she is going to rent will restrict her throughout the trip. I personally would rather walk to POR from FQ but the boat ride might be nice once in a while.

Actually never ridden from POFQ to POR but have from POR to Downtown Disney. The ramp at DTD is very steep. I was uncomfortable enough with it that I took the bus back to the resort.
