handicap parking?

Our last two DW trips I have rented a wheelchair at the parks. My husband would not let me rent a scooter. He said my driving wasn't good enough If I can talk him into renting one for our Dec. trip, I would want to drive to the parks rather than bothering everyone on the buses. I have handicap parking from my state. How fast do the parking spots fill up? How early would we need to be at the parks to be sure to get close enough to unload the scooter?

Generally I have never had any major problems in finding a space in Medical Parking no matter what time of day I arrive. The only possible exceptions are the parking in DHS can fill up but they do have a nearby area that can be used, and for MK if the lot on the right is full I really do not like the parking on the left side.

I would sugest taking the bus to mk because it get you closer faster if you park in the parking lot you have to take the monorail not that it a problem. Figured just as easy to take the bus and be closer then park the car ge to the monrail then wait for the monorail. Dont worry about bothering other people on the bus your entitled to ride the bus if you want to it easy and the drivers like to load the wheel chairs it gives them a reason to get up and strech. I also think taking your own car to some places will be easier but the choice to take the bus is their if you need it. Have fun and you dont have to be good at driving an ecv to use one if you think you need one i wouldnt worry about how to drive the ecv they are easy to use. I bet you be a better driver then him the choice is yours do what ever make you feel more comfortabe with.

The best way to get practice driving an ECV is going to a store like Walmart or the grocery store.

Thanks for the info. Even though my husband states he doesn't think I'll be a good driver and run over someone,I really think he likes to have control of where I go when he's pushing the wheelchair. I'm still going to try to talk him into the scooter. It's a hard job pushing me around.
