I am staying off property and we are renting a car. I am handicap but walk with crutches is there handicap parking close up front in the lots? Its been 8 years and I dont remember. Wasnt handicaped last trip.

Handicapped parking at the parks is still a hike. Your best bet is to park in the regular parking but tell the attendant you need to be parked at the end of the row for mobility reasons. They are very accomodating and will park you there. Then it is a very short walk to the tram, which drops you off as close to the front entrance as you are going to get. Your other option is to use the handicapped parking and utilize a wheelchair.

If you do not have a tag you can ask to park in one of the reserved spaces right next to the tram lane. You may have to show the cruthes to be allowed to do this.

If you have a tag, each of the disabled parking lots are almost as close as where the trams let off to the park entrance. They tend to also have wheelchairs available at no charge which you can use from handicap parking to where you can rent a wheelchair or ECV.

Unless you afre used to walking six to ten miles a day I would suggest you look into renting an ECV from an off-site location. If needed, they can provide one with crutch holders.

If you have not already done so, click on where it says "disABILTIES" at the top of this page it will take you to the Index. One of the top items is the "disABILTIES FAQ" which will gives lots of useful information, including where people rent ECVs.

::yes::
Some of the handicapped parking lots are pretty large. If you are parked near the part closest to the entrance, it may be almost as close as the parking tram takes you to the entrance.
There is more information about parking in the disABILTIES FAQs thread.

I agree with Cheshire Figment regarding renting an ECV.
