For the first time we will be traveling with an handicap individual (3 of us total). Is there a separate line for the handicap? Someone told me that there is but people were taking advantage of it because it was shorter wait times and therefore if there is someone who is genuinely handicap you will need to somehow register first? Does anyone know of this or heard of this? Maybe the person had their facts wrong? Any help will be appreciated!:thumbsup2

You will get better informed answers on the DISabilities board. Find it a little lower on the forums but here is the link: http://www.disboards.com/forumdisplay.php?f=20

I would suggest reading the stickies. The rules have recently changed. But feel free to ask any questions down there.

Not sure if the OP will still read this but for others that have the same question. You do not have to register if you are "handicapped" and I use the term lightly because both my husband and I, on separate occasions, used a wheelchair. We were both "handicapped" for a short period of time, both recovered but toured Disney with a wheelchair. We did not have to register and very few queues had a "wheelchair only" line. In fact, I can't even remember one although we were led away from the line at Star Tours but ended up waiting more time than others because of where we needed to be placed with the wheelchair. So, the idea that having a wheelchair line at Disney World to make your wait time less is not true at all. You either wait the same amount of time or maybe even more since you might need special requirements.

And just to say, I don't think Disney World did any of this just because people were renting wheelchairs and claiming to be "handicapped" when they weren't. This is simply mainstreaming because "handicapped" people aren't really "handicapped". They are just people like everyone else in the world.
