I´m curious to know where in Europe this was? I have travelled extensively throughout Europe and have never heard of it being illegal!

Thats was not me it was an email that went around. It should be illegal everywhere who, how nasty to put your shoes on a table!

I have never really put my purse on the table in a resturant since it is baad table manners..... but wow I saw that a while ago and GROSS! barf-o-rama!!

Who the heck would put their purse on the bathroom floor. I have never done that - gross. It stays in a drawer in my desk at work. I carry it and it hangs on my chair in a restaurant. Worse place it goes is on the floor once and a while in my car.

I get grossed out when I go to a public restroom and see women and girls put their coats on the floor while in the stall.

My bag hangs on the hook if there is one or else it stays on my shoulder. I never, ever put it down in a restroom.

OT--has anyone ever put their purse around their neck while in the stall. Once, I was desperate and there wasnt a hook and the floor was gross so I wore my purse around my neck.

Tonight at Subway, my DD and I were eating in and when we went to the table I thought of this thread. They have these strange chairs that are rounded so you cant hang your purse, the floor was not an option, I actually panicked (sp). I am relieved to report the purse stayed off the table, but for a minute there I almost caved and put it on the table.

While shopping today I saw these for the first time, the ones I saw cost too much but I thought they were a great idea. Just googled Purse Hangers and loads of items are available. They would be great at restaurants.

I'm male, but I often go around lugging bags, which I try to hang on hooks if at all possible. From now on, I'm tp'ing the floor before I put anything down.

And I know it's a side thread, but I'm Freyja and Paula - I don't think there is any country in Europe where it is illegal to put your handbag on a table in a restaurant. (Indeed, it sounds almost like an urban legend.) And I've been to just about every single country in Europe ...

Eeeewwww Gross!!!!! Do they make Clorox pocket packs???!!! I'm sure my family will really think I've gone bonkers if I start wiping down restuarant tables!!!!
