on our first trip to the usa soon and was hoping someone might be able to answer a question re hand luggage. We have a case that measures 18x12x8 not including the wheels, ie the actual case part. Britannia says that you can have hand luggage of 18x12x9 so ours seems to be within the limit. What I'd like to know is does the max size include the wheels part which would add approx 1.5 inch on the length size making it 19.5 (ie too big). Apologies if this seems like a dumb question but we're not sure and thought we ask here before having to phone Britannia.

I think you will have to add the total bag (including the wheels). I flew American Airlines and my case (with wheels) was 23" tall. Each airline usually has a (I don't know what you call it) but a space that your case has to fit in - if your case doesn't it in that area, it has to be checked. I wouldn't think that 1.5" would be that big a deal, but then you never know when you'll get one of those "that's the rule, and that's that!" people checking you in. Good luck and hope you enjoy your Disney trip.

Since the wheels are part of the case they must be included in the measurement of case size:(

On a brighter note, I think that you would easily get away with this, especially if you kept this case out of sight when checking in;)

Good luck and have a great one:)
