Is there some place that does really good fries in WDW? My favorite are steak fries but I will settle for any fresh hand cut out there. My wife and I are going down in a couple of weeks and both on a diet. But as we all know, diets don't exist on vacation. So I would like to do a little splurging and want to make sure its worth it. Thanks.

If you mean like this.

I have never seem them. There used to be a "fry cart" but they were McDonald's.

I don't know if you want fries with a meal or by themselves, but the best fries I've ever had at WDW we found last week at the Rose and Crown. We'd stopped by the pub for a pint and were feeling like a little something to snack on. Ordered fries and OMG! Proper British twice fried 'chips'. Crispy and hot with a little malt vinegar. None better.

I think that would be the closest to steak fries.

We had the ones at Yorkshire County Fish Shop in England with the fish and chips and wasn't really impressed.

All the other fires are standard restaurant frozen out of a bag type fries.

Yorkshire County Fish Shop...world showcase (England) at Epcot. Great "chips" and the fish is wonderful too :thumbsup2

Best Fries I've Had at Disney:

Parmesan Herb Fries at Turf Club - Comes in Regular or Sweet Potato
I'm not sure if these were hand cut or not.

Truffle Herb Fries at Flying Fish (not currently on the menu, and sometimes they have a different flavor). These were definitely hand cut, but a thin cut.

For plain fries I haven't found anything out of the ordinary.

I love the waffle fries at T-rex. Def not hand cut tho. The fries at Paradiso were good but they are of the shoestring variety. :) Wolfgangs express also have great shoestring fries. You are probably gonna have to rethink your splurge of choice. But I am sure you can find something! I suggest the house made chips a lot of places have now!!! Soooooooo GOOD!

Totally agree. These are our favorite fries on Disney property.

 <--doin' the french fry dance

1) Disney does not do hand-cut (By Diz) or fresh fries.
. . . all WDW fries are bought frozen
. . . they are par cooked
. . . Diz just does the final frying
2) Too much manpower to make great fries
. . . peel
. . . cut
. . . refrigerate
. . . blanch fry (par cook)
. . . refrigerate
. . . fry
3) But, the fries at Yorkshire are very good.
