When staying overnight while traveling on 95 to/from WDW, do you prefer Hampton Inn or Fairfield Inn? Other favorites?
Reasons why?
Thanks!

We like Hampton Inns, mainly because I generally stay in Hilton brands and have the most points through them. But we find them very reliable as far as comfort, cleanliness, noise, breakfast. And, my kids love to joke about the posters in the elevators at all of the Hamptons. Awesome sauce. Smile. Selfie.

Always had excellent stays at Hampton Inns on our drives down. Plus they are plentiful. So they’re easy to book day of as we travel. Never stayed at a Fairfield Inn.

Hampton every time. The rooms are better and the breakfast is superior to Fairfield by far. Fairfield rooms are so small!

I favor Marriott, so in this case, Fairfield.

I find Marriott's are consistently clean with comfortable beds. And I'm fond of the hot breakfasts too.

I don't really seek out Fairfields, I prefer Courtyards or Residence Inn since I'm traveling with kids, so kitchenettes or full kitchens and separate bedrooms are nice too.

We go by which ever is cheaper at the time . It’s usually for one night so it doesn’t matter . We do like a free breakfast too.

I like Holiday Inn Express hotels when travelling. We typically have 5 people, and they have suites. Not fancy, but clean and comfortable, with a hot breakfast. Usually, there's a kitchen area (fridge, microwave). DH likes a king bed.

If we're staying for a few days, our choice is Residence Inns. We like the space and the full kitchen.

We're at a stage in our lives where it's not worth the savings to squeeze into something we don't like--even for a night. If I was traveling solo, I'd be fine with clean sheets and a bathroom.

We only ever use this type of lodging when driving to and from WDW. For the past 5+ years we have stayed at Hampton Inns but for the last two years we have had issues with the Savannah Hampton Inn (I-95 South Gateway). The first year (two years ago) they didn't honor the price I was quoted. Upon check-in I told the young man checking us in that the price was wrong and showed him my paperwork. He said I would have to handle it upon checkout (my mistake for not pushing the issue but it had been a very long day). When we checked out the young lady who checked us out said she couldn't do anything about it. I asked to speak to her supervisor and of course there was no supervisor on duty. I planned to call Hampton once I got home but I let it fall through the cracks since it wasn't a large amount of money, and I had other issues to deal with (like my sister passing away).

This past January at the same Hampton Inn they had no ice and the in room frig didn't work. We called maintenance but they couldn't fix the problem. This was a bit of an issue because we had a cooler in the car. Luckily, we had enough ice in the cooler from home and nothing went bad.

So, after two years in a row with some kind of issue at Hampton we are going to try Fairfield Inn this coming Jan 2024. I'm hoping for a good experience.

When/if we drive we often drive till we get tired (never quite know when we are going to leave) and stop there.
Wherever there is...and we like stay at a Marriott property BUT honestly we usually just get off at a exit and stay at the place that looks the most decent! We don't usually have a pre determined exit/town/state that we stop at unless we have the dog with us - in that case I do pre-plan.

My first choice is Hampton inn. Sometimes I’ll take holiday inn express or best western if there’s no availability or if the price is less. Especially if it’s just a stop over. There’s a best western in Brunswick along 95 that is fine.

Many (possibly most?) of these are franchise locations, so it can vary. I don't know about the specific route mentioned by the OP, but I've stayed at various Hampton Inn and Fairfield Inn locations over the years. I was supposed to stay at the Hampton Inn in Islamorada (since rebranded I think) once but a storm cancelled all reservations. But I did pass by because there was a restaurant in the building and it seemed OK.

I've stayed in Fairfield Inn locations that were one step above a motel as well as some that were pretty good. I don't recall anything like a cook to order food that one might find at a Hampton Inn. But of course there are brand standards for lodging and food.

Never been to a Hampton that had a cook/restaurant. They offer free breakfast, which I know requires heating some things up/putting food out, but not "cooking".

It's been a while. I do remember they had those weird commercials where an employee is delivering an omelette, kind of like how someone buys a drink for someone else, although that's complimentary. I thought that maybe some locations had a cook to order bar that I've seen in some hotels.

Maybe one of those waffle makers? I'm thinking Golden Malted? I've seen those over the years at anything from cheap motels to fairly nice places like a Fairfield Inn. I remember one where someone at a family owned chain hotel franchise wouldn't let any guests touch the waffle maker. I guess some have been injured.
